Go on! The only sensible and reasonable writers seem to be on this forum!!!! Thank you for keeping Sahiba’s character intact!

Yes! We only have ourselves to do justice to the characters and the story. We definitely can't rely on the makers!

Btw, do you have any ongoing TMD FFs? I remember reading a few of your OSs in the beginning, when I used to be active on the forum!🤗

Thank you so much for your encouragement babe! ❤️

Can't wait to read this. A much needed story in current track. Some of the very good writers are on this forum and now I am only coming here to read the stories. Baaki show mein discuss karne jaisa kuch bacha nahi hai

They have butchered sahan completely for me and ITV is not matured enough to show a good seperation and repentence/redemption track so ek sorry milega jyada se jyada show mein from angad and brars

I can't wait to see how angad in your story reacts and realises his mistakes. I want to see how sahiba put her family in place too. They have been too selfish including her father and except Keerat I don't feel anyone actually cares for her as a person

Please tag me for the updates. And continue soon would love to read this

I really like this prologue and would love to read how you take it further! I actually want Sahiba to see her own value and of course people around her whom she calls family members 😏 And for Angad, I want him to understand the meaning of marriage in a true sense with respect and support not what they are showing in the show! So would definitely read it if you decide to write more 🙂

Heyyyyy🤗

Thank you so much for this lovely comment babe!

Yes, right now SahAn seems irredeemable to me in the show and I'm badly waiting for the separation! I don't even want romantic scenes abhi, I can't digest them!

@bold - I completely agree! Along with Angad, even Sahiba's family needs to be taken down a peg or two, especially Seerat!

Will definitely tag you for further updates love!

I'm so glad that you liked the prologue <3

. : Chapter 1 - Yaadein : .

-1 Year Later-

Brar Mansion, Ludhiana

"Angad... Angad utho! Office ke liye late ho rahe ho, phir breakfast skip karke chale jaoge." Angad felt someone prodding him awake. He sat up on his bed, bleary eyed, only to find himself face-to-face with Seerat, his cousin Garry's wife.

"Seerat, tum yahan kya kar rahe ho?" asked Angad as he got off the bed, trying to put as much distance between himself and Seerat.

"Woh, neeche sab tumhara intezaar kar rahe hai. Daarji bol rahe the ki sabko breakfast saath mein karna chahiye. Issi liye main tumhe lene aayi." said Seerat, as she walked closer towards him and took his hand in hers.

Angad immediately recoiled at her touch, an expression of disbelief on his face. "Yeh kya kar rahi ho tum?"

"Arre, tum aise kyun react kar rahe ho Angad? Main sirf itna keh rahi thi ki neeche sab tumhara intezaar kar rahe hai, aur hume jaana chahiye. Aur main toh tumhari dost hoon na? Dosti mein toh haath pakadna allowed hai." said Seerat, trying to sound innocent.

"Nahi Seerat. Hum dost nahi hai. Tum mere bhai ke biwi ho bhas. Aur yeh baat tum kabhi mat bhoolna. And the next time I'm late, tumhe khud aane ki zaroorat nahi hai. Kisi house-help ko bhejdo." said Angad, clearly indicating her to leave.

Seerat stood there a minute longer, wondering if there was any other way she could get Angad to soften up to her, probably pretend to be hurt at his words or fake a fall, but her plans were interrupted by Veer, who had also arrived at Angad's doorstep.

"Seerat Bhabhi, aap idhar kya rahe hain?" asked Veer, not in the least bit surprised that Seerat was in Angad's room.

"Woh, main actually Angad ko breakfast ke liye bhulane aayi thi." said Seerat, trying not to sound too embarrassed.

"Lekin Manbir Mami ne toh Sukhdeep ji ko bheja tha! Aapne takleef kyun uthaya? Aap jayiye. Maine leke aata hoon Angad paaji ko." said Veer, firmly showing her the door.

"Veer... Maine nahi bulaya yaar usse. Woh khud aayi thi. Main bol bolke thak chuka hoon yaar, ki woh mere kamre mein na aaye. In fact, maine ab bhi thodi der pehle bola usse." Angad launched into an explanation as soon as Seerat was out of earshot.

"Rehne do Paaji. Jab boundaries draw karna tha, tab nahi kiya aapne. Baar baar family aur farz ke naam pe unko apne paas aane diya. Woh respect jo kisi aur ko milna tha, aapne Seerat Bhabhi ko diya. Ab boundaries draw karke kya fayda Paaji?" asked Veer, leaving Angad dumbstruck.

Angad stared after Veer's fading silhouette, his every word ringing in his ears, especially the unspoken name in their conversation... Sahiba.

-Flashback-

"Mujhe divorce chahiye. Main Angad Singh Brar ko divorce karna chahti hoon." said Sahiba, her voice calm and unruffled, as she faced Angad.

There was an instant uproar at her words, with Daarji screaming that it is against the Brar family's tradition to divorce someone, Jaspal and Gurleen asking her not to take hasty decisions, and Prabjyot comment on how ungrateful Sahiba is, but she only looked at Angad, watching as his expressions went from shock to disbelief to a grave realization. Only Manbir, Inder, and Seerat looked happy on hearing Sahiba's decision, each for their own reasons.

"Angad, maine yeh baat sabke saamne bata diya, kyunki mera decision final hai. Aur isse peeche nahi hatungi. Lekin, main tumhe explanation zaroor dena chahti hoon. Can you please hear me out?" asked Sahiba, trying to reason with him.

"Jab tumne faisla le hi liya, explanation kyun dena chahti ho?" asked Angad, trying not to sound hurt or betrayed.

"Haan, maine faisla le liya. Aur sabke saamne bata bhi diya. Taaki tumhari family members ko yeh na lage ki hum dono ne milkar yeh faisla liya hai. Kyunki agar aisa hua, toh Daarji tumpe gussa karenge, aur shayad kabhi maaf nahi karenge tumhe." said Sahiba, taking Angad's hand and leading him to their room amidst the noise in the living room.

Once in the room, Sahiba shut the door behind them and gestured Angad to sit. There was no sign of anger or resentment on her face. But there was no sign of sorrow either. All he could see was a calm and composed Sahiba, exuding an aura of determination and strength.

"Angad... I'm sorry." said Sahiba, looking straight into his eyes. Angad could feel the surprise flitting across his face as soon as he heard her apology. He expected her to accuse him of destroying her shop and her dreams, or talk about how badly he had treated her. However, he did not expect this sincere apology from her, despite the fact that he was at fault this time.

"Sorry... sorry kyun bol rahi ho tum?" asked Angad, still dumbstruck.

"A lot of things. Jab hamari shaadi hui thi, mujhe laga ki mere saath bohot galat hua hai, ki meri Seerat Di ne meri family ko hurt kiya hai. Mujhe laga ki meri koi galati nahi thi isme, phir bhi mujhe punishment mil raha hai. Lekin main galat thi..." said Sahiba, stopping Angad when he was about to object to it.

"Nahi Angad... yeh baat toh sach hai ki Garry aur Seerat Di ne tumhare saath jo kiya, woh bohot galat tha, aur woh dono tumhare gunegaar hai. Lekin, kahin na kahin, main bhi isme shaamil thi. Jab Seerat Di ne aur Mummy Ji ne pehli baar tumse jhoot bola tha, tab hi mujhe saara sach batana chahiye tha. Unhe rokna chahiye tha. Lekin maine aisa kiya nahi, because I was blinded by the love I had for my family." Sahiba's eyes filled with tears of guilt and shame as she thought about those times she unwittingly aided her mother's ploy.

"Aur Sudha Mausi ke ghar ke saamne jab yeh phir se hua, tab bhi maine tumhe sach nahi bataya. In fact, maine khud tumhe jhoot bola tha. Kyunki mujhe laga ki tum aur Seerat Di ek dusre se pyaar karte ho, aur mere wajah se woh bigadna nahi chahiye. Aur jab meri Mummy ne jhoot bola tha ki unka health critical hai, tab maine hi doctor ko convince kiya tum logon se jhoot bolne ke liye. In fact, shaadi ke mandap mein bhi maine kabhi yeh nahi socha ki tumhara dil kitna toot gaya hoga yeh sunkar ki Seerat Di bhaag gayi. And for all that... I'm very, very sorry." Sahiba let out a deep sigh, as if saying all these out loud unburdened her in a certain way.

"Mummy Ji ne aur Seerat Di ne jo tumhare saath kiya, usme main bhi shaamil thi Angad. Maybe not willingly, not wholeheartedly, but I was a part of it. And I know ki sorry bohot hi chota shabd hai, aur usse sab kuch theek nahi hota. But I want you to know that maine jo bhi kiya, woh tumhe intentionally hurt karne ke liye nahi tha." Sahiba took his hand in hers, trying to convey her guilt and apologies through her gesture.

"Thank you..." Angad's voice came out in a hoarse whisper as he held her hand tighter. "Thank you for acknowledging my pain Sahiba. This means a lot to me. Sahiba, I know ki hamara rishta bohot complicated raha hai, and that we have held each other responsible for everything that has happened to us. But we can work on it yaar. Divorce dene ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. Ab hamare beech ek understanding aaya hai. Let's work on it. Shayad hum dono ke beech kabhi pyaar nahi ho sakta, lekin dosti toh ho sakti hai." said Angad, gently grasping her by the shoulders, trying to make her see his point.

"Nahi Angad. I don't think so. Haan, hum dono ke beech ab ek understanding hai. Lekin main iss ghar kabhi khush nahi reh paungi Angad. Apne sapno ka kurbaani dekar main kabhi khush nahi reh paungi. Maine kayi saare galtiyan ki hai Angad, lekin mere saath bhi iss ghar mein galat hua hai. Seerat Di aur Garry, jo tumhare asli gunegaar hai, unn dono ko tumne ek chutki mein maaf kar diya. Lekin mere saath kaisa bartaav tum logon ne, yaad hai tumhe? Forget respect, you didn't even show basic humanity towards me Angad." said Sahiba, making Angad flinch.

"Sahiba, main..." Angad stopped short as Sahiba held up her hand to stop him.

"Main yeh sab nahi bhul paungi Angad. Kabhi nahi bhul paungi. Jaise tumne kaha tha, hum dono ke beech pyaar toh nahi ho sakta, after all this. So why stay in a loveless marriage? Everyone deserves love in their life Angad - tum bhi, aur main bhi. Yeh zindagibhar ki saza toh hum dono deserve nahi karte. You don't have to compromise on your life for this marriage, and I won't compromise on my dreams for this marriage. Issi liye main keh rahi hoon, divorce lena hum dono ke liye accha hai. Please Angad, this is the last thing I ask of you. Isme mera saath do. Just this once." said Sahiba, her eyes pleading with Angad.

One look at her determined expression, and Angad knew that she had made up her mind. In fact, everything she had said to him made sense. No one deserves to stay in a forceful, loveless marriage, so why should they? And there was no reason why Sahiba should compromise on her dreams for a loveless marriage.

So he let her go... only to realize days later that he never got to apologize for his mistakes at all.

-Flashback Ends-

Nagmen hain shikve hain

Kisse hain baate hain

Baatein bhool jaati hain

Yaadein yaad aati hain

A year had passed. An entire year had passed since she left him, yet her name managed to stir up so many emotions in him - anger, exasperation, concern, guilt, and maybe a mild hint of affection (or not).

Baatein bhool jaati hain

Yaadein yaad aati hain

Yeh yaadein kisi dil-o-jaanam ke

Chale jaane ke baad aati hain

And he could also understand why Veer resented him ever since Sahiba's exit. During her time at the Brar Mansion, Sahiba had become Veer's best friend, a maternal figure who cared for him, an older sister who fought for his dreams and encouraged him. He knew that Veer missed her.

And deep down, a part that he would never admit to himself, missed her too.

A/N:

Hello lovelies!

Here's the 1st chapter at last! I know that I've only covered Angad's feelings and his POV in this chapter, but the next one will have Sahiba's. I'm planning to keep the first 2 chapters to establish the story, and then proceed further. The next chapter will also include from some flashback VeeRat moments!

I'm sorry for the long dialogues in the flashback, but it was kind of necessary😆 Let me know what you guys think of the chapter! If you do have any writing tips to give me, they are more than welcome! Also, let me know in the comments if there is a particular scene or moment you would like to see between the couples - both SahAn and VeeRat. I'll try to incorporate them all!

P.S. All the chapters will be named after a song that suits the mood of the chapter! :P

Love ❤️
