2.08 Excellent comeback from India's bowlers today, but Australia would have been thrilled if they'd been offered 469 before the start of the game. That's a sizeable first-innings total on this pitch, where there's still quite a bit of sideways movement apart from uncertain bounce. And having watched India bowl here, they'll have a decent idea of what lengths have worked on this pitch.

Inserted to bat, Australia have posted a big total on the board. Travis Head and Steve Smith the stars as both the batsmen notched up their respective tons and stitched a mammoth 285-run stand for the fourth wicket. India were made to toil hard and they bowled well today. Picked four wickets in the morning session and removed the last three Australian wickets in the first hour of the middle session. Alex Carey scored a handy 48 before perishing to Jadeja while employing the reverse-sweep. A spirited performance from Siraj who claimed four wickets and in the process picked up his 50th Test wicket as well. There's still some seam movement on offer and there's some uneven bounce as well at times.

We'll find out in a bit...

2.15pm Australia warming up on the outfield. Big test for India's batters coming straight of the IPL. Cameron Green's innings was a sign of how difficult the short transition is. But India's players are vastly more experienced at it.

The sun is beaming out, prematurely melting kids' ice creams and forcing a few to shade under umbrellas. This was exactly the time when Head and Steve Smith took the game away yesterday. India would really hope their top-order can get a solid start as well. They have no excuses, these are the best times to bat in England. But they are up against a quality Aussie attack - expect Starc, Cummins and Boland to go hard at the Indian batters.A lot depends on Gill and Rohit, how will they play this?
