Dhoni resigned as Indian team captain when he knew he had a successor in Virat Kohli.

For CSk also last year they tried with Jadeja. But it was affecting his personal game. So Dhoni took over.

This year also they haven't yet found a successor. Once they find Dhoni will go out himself I feel, but will continue to be a part of CSK support staff.
