If you watch NM first interview with Fuchsia, she really stands up for Meerab decision to out the contract in place. She seems to understand and advocate for consent. This was a recurring theme throughout. It wouldn’t make sense to change that now. The story was written at this point. She said that he wants Meerab to love him on her own terms and not force her into it. Now NM is spewing all kinds of venom trying to hold the suspense. Do the makers not realize that this is causing more damage than hype? They need to consider some damage control before the episode airs.

I dropped in on a Twitter space today. Everybody was ranting as if rape hogaya hai.

Given the history of misleading TB promos, I will not put even half my eggs in MR basket.

Remember the phone phainkna scene in the promos. For a week everyone shat on MK that he threw the phone at Merub but in the actual episode that is not what happened.

The whole USP of MK is that he is NOT your typical feudal lord. He hugged Maryam after rescuing her - a feudal lord to usko zinda zameen main gaad deta.

MR is shown to value consent and izzat of women even when he was an angry young man in E1. His fight with Maliks in E1 was because Zubair was trying to force himself on some ghareeb farmer's daughter.

Consent in marriage is the hook. MK complies with the contract because he respects Merub's choice and values her consent. When MK taped back the contract in E27, he said that until Merub breaks it herself, i.e. signal explicit consent, he will comply with the contract terms. It makes no logical sense for MK to so brutally violate her consent this time. That is not what the character is shown to be.

And don't say he raped her because Merub made him angry - that also makes no sense. To rape someone forcefully requires a certain temparament and innate lack of respect for women. Otherwise this is saying dunya ke har aadmi ke andar ek rapist hai - what nonsense. Aisa ho to har ghar har gali har rishte main violent rape ho raha ho recurrently. MK is not shown to be someone who rapes women. As I said before, from E1, we are told of his izzat for women.

MR may be ONE possibility (though a faint one in my opinion)...

However, there are multiple other possibilities and theories that could explain the promo scenes and is more consistent with other scenes, internal world building and characterizations

But those other options are not discussed as much...I guess they r less exciting...will not give oiutlets, people the SM engagement and validation they need. Or people may find this anger, agony as cathartic or as a channel to vent their negative emotions.

Exactly.
It’s easy to discuss a topic that causes a frenzy annd gets ppl riled up. The Tere Bin rant house is filled with self-righteous warriors that start showing up in the Twitter streets with sticks because I think they jointly enjoy it.

Even Amna, I thought was very irresponsible. She kind of brought it back at the end, but during her review she was basically saying that Murtasim was shown to be horny and building up his pent up sexual frustration in his bedroom flashback scene… to basically set up the ultimate MR scene. She stated it as if that was fact. Like… even she is a master at imposing her own interpretation and viewpoints about the show/ plot/characters as if they are the end all / be all. Highly disappointing from a so called educated reasonable minded woman.

I’m sorry but I don’t understand why people don’t get the whole.. be impeccable with your word thing. Value your words… take care with your words…don’t just make proclamations and/ or accusations based on emotion or your own beliefs. Otherwise people won’t trust you or respect you, or take you seriously. I have already lost respect for so many of the accounts I used to follow after this whole ordeal.
