In Kuch Ankahi, we can call it a psychological issue but we're not that broad-minded if a girl was doing the same what Saif was, and is doing. He had a relationship with a girl and now he has an extra-marital affair. It boils my blood that when a guy has an affair before or after the marriage, a wife's task is to save her marriage and win his heart but if the girl has it then she simply gets the tag of 'bad kirdaar aurat'.

Yes, in yunhi things are complicated. Kim's father is the worst out of all. He wanted the freedom to break off an engagement and live the life he wants but his daughter shouldn't have that option.

In KA, shagufta is seeing a married man but the show not once showed her in bad light for that. She is in the wrong for emotionally abusing him but not for continuing a mutual relationship. Samiya isn't doing any task of saving her marriage. She is literally going with the flaw. She isn't stopping saif from meeting shagufta or sitting and crying over her messed up married life. Neither phupho who ran away from her marriage nor shagufta who is having a relationship with a married man is shown to be badkirdaar in KA. In ejls both the leads were supposedly in love with other people and when the fl said she is still in love with someone else after being married neither the ml nor his family character assassinated her. They never showed the fl in bad light for loving a man while being married to another. Shows like KA and ejls which has sensible writing are very less and cannot be compared to other typical dramas were they have different rule for men and women.

Well, I won't include web series in this list. As for Kuch Ankahi, I accept that it is progressive writing as compared to other dramas we're watching, especially phuppo's character. Yet, I find Samiya's track kind of regressive. Going with the flow, not stopping Saif from meeting Shagufta, and sitting over her messed-up married life are ways of saving it. In many of our dramas, our women win the hearts of their husbands and save their marriages through their silent patience.

As for Shaghufta not being shown as 'be-kirdar' - we can't say that because as yet, we haven't someone else talking about her. Saif's mom calls her 'chammak challo' and Samiya's family has bad views about her. However, what general people think about her can be known only if they show some outsiders talking about her. In truth, both she and Saif are morally wrong, and their characters are questionable, so my problem is not if someone questions her character. My problem is to question the guy's character too instead of forgiving him easily.

Samiya is not exactly silent. She has a very clear pov and speaks up when she needs to and is very firm on her believes. No matter what saif's mother says or how much saif try to tell her to bend in front of his mother she isn't doing that. She is fully capable of walking out of that marriage and house if she wants to. She don't consider this marriage is her only option. She got married simply to make her mother happy but she isn't gonna bend down and go against her principles for saif or his mother. By being patient she is testing the patience of saif and his mother. So whatever happens she won't be blamed by anyone. In a way samiya is smart and clever. If this marriage fails nobody can blame her for this.

Tanya said she likes the guts of shagufta and she likes her even though she knows shagufta is the gf. Same with Aaliya. She is only questioning saif for not making his stand clear and riding in two boats at the same time. All of samiya's family is asking for saif to take a stand. Nobody is bringing shagufta into it or blaming her as of now. Saif's mother is not a very sensible woman and she is capable of calling samiya and Saif names if she wants to.

As for society, it has always been unfair to women than men and thats why a lot of women fight against it.

I think its wrong to keep discussing Kuch Ankahi inYunhi's thread so I'm replying to this comment at its right place 😊

Well, almost all our dramas are based on or have the same theme. The girl marries a guy against her will, either because she's forced to do so by her elders or because of the circumstances.

After the marriage, mostly there are two scenarios.

First Scenario:

Everyone is bad but the guy she married is good and he becomes a shield against everyone and helps her to deal with the circumstances imposed on her. Also, this type of marriage will remain unconsummated as the guy is so honorable that he won't touch the girl until or unless she also wants this.

Examples: Tere Bin, Mujhe Pyar Hua Tha, and most probably Yunhi will also fall in the same category.

Second Scenario:

The guy is flawed so the girl's task is to win the heart of the guy, repair him, and save her marriage.

Examples: Tere Bina Mein Nahi, Pyari Mona, Kuch Ankahi

Whenever the girl tries to break the forced marriage, she is a villain.

Example: Agar

I'm only watching the above dramas but there must be more. I know Hook has a forced marriage, but I don't know in what category it belongs.

In ptv, it does happen same tracks in all dramas. Pehley 2 shadiyon ka trend tha, then divorce, now forceful marriages.

Tho in yunhi, it's kim who wanted to marry dawood. In TB also first meerab got agreed for marriage then murtasim. Mpht ki toh kya hi baat karein. That drama has no logic. Hook has crossed all the limits. First forceful marriage, then throwing her out of the house several times. In KA, it was a shadi out of majboori, tho that was close to reality, desi parents do force their kids to get marry with their choice.

Not watching PM and Agar so no idea.

Finally watched the latest episode.

I guess nothing much happened except Kim's father getting a heart attack. Don't know if he is dead or not. If he is then Kim's father will join the long list of pak drama fathers that died only because the female lead shouldn't have a male figure other than the ML to lean on and protect her🤪 although kim don't seem to need any protection she is clearly gonna be vulnerable as he was her only family and the only person she was emotionally attached to. Now the only person she can call as her own will be dawood since he is her legally wedded husband.

I think dawood finally cracked the code on how to make kim do what he asks her to do. Listen to her demands if he wants to make ker listen to his demands later on 😆. He made a good point on how she judged him based on his dressing but make a big buzz on how other's judge her dressing. The makers should have made kim atleast wear sleeveless tops to make it look like she is wearing clothes thats too much for the society. The girl is always wearing loose tshirts with cartoon characters and jeans.

Is maya ali tall or the girl playing sister too short? They have a very noticeable high difference.

Agar was decent drama with potential.

But they ruined it after annies death.

Kim's father is going to die (why they always kill FL's father in every other drama).

I am liking dawood kim interaction. Dawood is handling kim well. Pehly dusrey ki baat maney phir apni baat manwayein. That's a good strategy.

Also the way kim points out that Pakis are like that while American are like that. I mean that was not needed because har tarahan ky log har jagaa hoty hain.

Dawood reply to her cloths comment was on point.

Kim's father has to die to make kim a masloom aurat in an unfamiliar place so that dawood can be her knight in shinning armour 🤣
