Logically speaking Meerab trusts Murtasim so why shouldn't he sleep on the bed, and if this was a western show or hindi or korean drama audiences can easily accept two grown adults can share a bed without having sex.
SH said in a review that if a couple share the same bed then they are definitely having sex, this thinking is so crass and animalistic. Yes humans have desires and we act on them but sometimes there are certain emotional barriers a couple need to get past, and it is possible for two grown adults to sleep on the same bed and respect each others space.
But the conservative Pak audience brain just can't process this information, or think women are allowed to sleep on the same with husband without giving him conjugal rights as if her body is a prize to be won. Every episode discussion TBA included would be like did they do it tonight, or was it last night, oh wait maybe they will do it tomorrow. It would have become a horror show.
Director had no choice but to relegate poor Murtasim to the sofa to make it easy for everyone to understand. So there can be no confusion. This is not Meerab's fault blame the audience.
