But wasn’t Murtasim forced into a marriage himself? Also when Haya revealed the contract too everyone, didn’t Murtasim say that all the parents were responsible for this because they forced her to marry him. It doesn’t sound like he agrees with forcing anyone against their will. I think Haya is completely different because he doesn’t see any other solution. I think Mariam liking someone won’t be easy for him to take because nobody else has done that in their family but if the guy was decent, I think he would accept it eventually. Ma Begum would most definitely would have a problem with it. She didn’t even let her Sher beta make his own decision and announced the news publicly before talking to him. I think even Meerab agreed that Murtasim they may be able to convince but Ma Begum will be the problem.
