As far as I remember Gul had ruined Aditya ka character beyond redemption and there was no comming back from that

Tho they introduced Aryan ka character who supported imli when audience accepted this new guy

The actor playing Aditya chose to quit coz the story was going nowhere and he had better opportunities to work

And the leap happened coz Gul is pathetic at writing long running shows😆
