Kuch Ankahi # 2 Sajal Aly, BilalAbbasKhan, SheheryarMunawar - Page 17

Yaar tried watching Chand Tara…while I enjoyed the show…in the sense, it’s repetitive only, but still cute and bearable. What was unbearable is the kilos of make up on Danish Taimoor’s face…somehow I am unable to buy the “immaturity” of the husband wife characters…they look too old to play non serious or slapstick type characters…

like I never had this issue with Ishq Jalebi with Wahaj or even with OB in chup ke chup ke…in fact there he was sort of written as a balanced serious guy. I think in real life OB and DT are close to age. There were layers to the characters and comedy was the tone. Yaha Pata nahi…I am not convinced.

PS- knowing the obsessive fandom that DT and AYesha have thanks to his previous shows, I didn’t even bother checking what is being said on the forum about that show.

I am surprised to see that Kuch Ankahi did not even make it to the top #20 in TRPs this week - and was beaten even by Pinjra - though KA has been around #13 in TRPs the three previous weeks. I feel KA really picked up 2-3 episodes ago so I am surprised to see its TRP not improving.

I am not in Pakistan but does anyone if KA time slot has shifted from 8 to 9:30 like the other ARY weekday dramas in Ramzan which could explain the low TRP performance this week or is there another reason? Also, I read on here that they are planning to move KA to another day and I am worried if another time change will make it lose its audience even further.

Generally TV shows - pak or ITV are frankly full of red flags only. The writers are from some other zamana and the motivation is trp and not creativity or intelligent writing. Your brief synopsis has only convinced me not to watch the sheryar Sajal show 😵Frankly we really can’t escape the fact that in our societies, be in India or Pak, feminism, equality, chauvinism, chivalry are so misunderstood even by women.

I am watching TB but not obsessively…I don’t think the writing deserves the glorification the show has got. Frankly, I love Wahaj and Yumna but my days of obsessive watching are over, I have realized I need to connect on some level. That’s why Kuch Ankahi is something I really love, I do think it has lot to do with me personally …many characters are similar to me and my life and of course it helps that the writing is so thought provoking.

I am happy for finite dramas. But I also think web series are fantastic, IF doesn’t do a good job of building a forum to discuss web series. Frankly it seems like IF has not really kept up with content side of things, but yes, the people on IF definitely represent society very well which has become quite discordant, peripheral and self indulgent.

Itv is a lost cause but thankfully Indian webseries are good and most movies on women empowerment are done right. Since there are multiple movie industries and other content in India, we have a lot of options other than ITV. But pak industry has very less content apart from pak dramas. Webseries are very little and Zee5 only releasing original pak webseries once in a blue moon. Green tv content looks good but i am afraid there will be backlash for it.

I think indian and Korean women centric movies are better than Hollywood women centric movies. Latest Charlie's angle and captain Marvel are a good example. They bash and degrade men to make their female characters stronger. It's like the female version of male chauvinism. Whereas Indian and Korea movies are way more subtle and is mostly about just women without degrading men. There is a balance. If they show bad men then they show good men as well like in darlings or bulbul or tapad.

TB at this point is highly overrated. The only good thing out of it is wahaj finally got the attention he deserved. Now i don't even bother to check the precap.

Dramas like kuch ankahi is the reason why i like pak dramas. Due to strict censorship pak contents have very limited genres and they are the best at showing very down to earth real stories with subtlety and simplicity. Like Zgh, udaari etc. Telling what they want to without being preachy or ott dramatic scenes. If i want to watch intense romance with ott moments i will simply watch kdrama rom-coms. It will also have more romantic scenes bewteen the leads without keeping everything to our imaginations😆.

Chand tara has bad makeup for both ayesa and danish😆. I guess since OB is mostly famous for comedy he looks more natural in the role and his role was also comparatively serious. Wahaj is younger than the two and also looks younger than his real age. So if he is shown to be a college going lad it will look fine.

I watch both the ramdan dramas without using much logic or brains. 😆

It's just for timepass and chand tara don't invest me as much as CC but it's watchable if there is nothing else to watch. It don't have any serious topic or regressive content.

Ayeza and danish are older for the characters but their chemistry is good and i give a blind eye to it the same way i give a blind eye to logic😆.

Fairy tale is becoming more fun than Chand Tara nowadays.

The slot of all ary shows change during ramdan.

Dramas like kuch ankahi requires patience and characters have more depth and layers. It cannot be fast forwarded and watched. It also don't have any high voltage drama and if people don't invest in understanding the characters they won't like it. I have seen a lot of people hating on samiya and seeing shagufta as just a villain in comments. Majority only wanted to watch Bilal and sajal's story and left it when they didn't get enough of these two.

Maybe after it finishes airing and people binge watch it, some may appreciate it.

Most of their dialogues for each other are good. Pandra saal dialogue, Taj Mahal dialogue, this one, the samandar one the commitment one. There are so many. The dialogue writer of this drama needs a raise. 😆
