Maybe the movie wouldn't be end as a hit, but I really wish that it won't be declared a flop...there had been enough unnecessary flops ... this movie is at least an original Hindi one with - obviously - some entertaining elements.

even Jug Jugg Jeeyo wasn't declared Flop, it was declared average, but it keep getting bashed as a failure. Big Films Only need to be a clean Hit to be declared Success.

Obviously the problem - again and again - is the high budget... 83's budget-number (220 cr - 270cr) is just far too high for the 107 cr net the movie domestically had (and 193 cr Gross worldwide) in 8 weeks.

Now, again, a budget of 200 cr is named (instead of the initial 80 cr).

One really gets the feeling that strange things are going on in the (Hindi) filmindustry when it comes to film budgets...

If one has high budget one has to do films as much for the single screen/local theatres as for the high-priced multiplexes.

Taran rightly remarks that the former ones are largely underrepresented in TJMM's bo collections.

Didn’t know the success of this movie would offend people so much. Now I want it to be an even bigger success!

(off topic) I didn't find a verdict about the movie, neither in BOI nor in sacnilk...and indeed, it was an economically clearly unsuccessful movie with a (declared) budget of 120 cr, a domestic net collection of 84 cr and a worldwide gross of 138 cr.

However, I still maintain, that numbers don't say anything about the quality of a movie, only about the acceptance by the audience...and - like TJMM - JJJ was an urban movie predominently for high-priced multiplex theatres.

Wait .. now we are questioning numbers of this movie also

Is it a matter of not being able to digest RK's back to back successes?

First Brahmastra and now TJMM

will watch this only when it comes to OTT.

There are probably people who aren't "able to digest" Ranbir's success with Brahmastra...however the way the importance of the boxoffice income (especially the domestic net one) has increased for labeling the succes of a movie, makes those numbers prone to manipulation. The audience (and even professional analysts) can be duped.

That's why I dislike that kind of concentration on those numbers and try to show how different they are handled and thrown at the audience.

It's happening on daily basis...if it was weekend only I would not have commented. They are making it obvious.

Besides any no of ghapla can't make it a success.
