We don't have those rituals. There will be a reception at the bride's house a day before the wedding where people who cannot make it to the wedding comes and then the wedding were the main ritual will only be of 15-20mins at maximum then it's the sadya which will have 2-3 rounds based on the number of people attending the wedding. That's all. Majority just comes sees the wedding, eats and go. It will most probably a 30-40mins thing for them. Then after the wedding there might be a reception at the groom's house on the same day at the evening or the next day. That's all. There is no mehendi, haldi, Sangeet, cocktail party etc. Nowadays some people keeps mehendi or Sangeet just because they have too much money and to have fun. Culturally it's not part of Kerala wedding. Even the 2 receptions started only 10-15yrs ago. My parent's wedding was only just for a day. No reception at the bride or groom's home and both were from pretty well off families. 😆

We also don't have 7 pheras around the fire. Infact there is no fire at all😆. The bride and groom exchange garlands and then the groom ties a gold chain with baniyan tree leaf shaped pendent equivalent to mangalsutra and that's all. Done and dusted🤣
