Honestly no because I feel like I don’t know enough about it. I don’t follow or read up on it to get more information about it. Whatever I know is very anecdotal. I see videos or posts about people wanting to boycott a movie or a star primarily for religious or political reasons. The only time I saw a lot of “boycott Bollywood” was after SSR’s death and I suppose some remnants of that anger and sadness is still around. But these days most of what I see still falls in the religious and political categories. Neither of them apply to Kartik though. I think Shehzada is flopping because it just didn’t click with the audience.

Selfiee is a remake (of a 2019 Malayalam movie)...so, we will see if there could be a pattern of non-success for remakes of quite recent Indian movies.
