Is it the actor’s failure or the character Virat is a pathetic being

May be the writers always wanted to show that Virat loved Sai even when he was hating her due to circumstances but the actor failed to emote that way ?

I feel they always wanted to show there is love behind Virat’s anger, even when character assassinating Sai, he did it due to jealousy and wanted to hear from her that she also loved only him like he did in all these years of separation. But I strongly feel that Neil Bhatt as an actor badly fails here .

Since beginning of the show, whenever its about showing complex emotions towards Sai, only hatred comes out from NB’s expressions.

In yrkkh second generation there were many times when Kartik was separated from Naira,specially during the Mumbai track when Kartik had become a walking monster for everyone, he would say extremely hurtful things, but viewers can very well see the love he had for her & only his love for Naira was his redeeming quality. Since NB is unconvincing about his character’s love for Sai, no one can feel the intensity when he expresses that.

NB definitely failed to convey anything remotely suggesting "love". but makers themselves gave very little by way of scenes to show us that V loved Sai always. There were few forced FB scenes and one compatibility quiz in school picnic to show us that V has memories with Sai. Infact he only grew closer to P ever since Sai's return. He has allowed P into his life in the most intimate way possible- she does everything a wife does- is in his personal space and has been for years. but now beds are joined and he is even more free in physical contact with P too. How does that show his "love" to Sai. Theres a difference in portraying jealousy and unrest on knowing that perhaps the person you loved has moved on vs character assassinating. What V did was clearly character assassination. The fact that he could accuse Sai of sleeping with JM of all people- the man who killed HER father - that is inexcusable. He made excuses and flipped the tale claiming he was only asking questions and didnt accuse her. But his dialogues were not written, performed as a jealous lover. The fact that he could voluntarily suggest going on honeymoon and take sacred vows/pheras with P just to feel less guilty about her being upset with him not saving her in the accident- thats too unbelievable. The fact that he searched for P like a mad man but didnt do the same for Sai when she was in an accident- that shows how much Sai mattered to him. He quite easily accepted Sai as dead and then easily moved on. Every instance of him remembering Sai was forced and fake. It was obvious he had completely thrown Sai out of his life. The fact was further reinforced when he forgot the date of their marriage anniversary and was instead giving smitten looks to P. he barely had any dilemmas or second thoughts about his actions towards Sai. He namesake regretted not stopping her but not because he acknowledges that he wronged her. He just feels like Vinu wouldnt have gone missing if he had stopped them- thats it. He never regretted his last words to her- orphan, bojh, samjhauta. So this sudden realization now that he only "loves" Sai is all hogwash. He just wants to play savior and he feels guilty seeing her state. So he is LYING. again. He is a compulsive liar and cheat. He is incapable of loving. He cant face the fact that HE is responsible for breaking Sai and acknowledging that he has betrayed her, wronged her, abused her always. Its much easier to play victim and cry for himself and his state.

Yeah, there was very less scope, still I felt the actor could have done it by his subtle expressions. If you have watched YRKKH, even Kartik was married to Vedika when Naira returned, the track went on for so long, it never looked that their marriage will be annulled, but still they got trps and viewers never questioned Kartik’s love for Naira, because of subtle expressions Mohsin gave even during his hateful conversations with Naira. Writers or the actor , someone definitely has failed to keep the continuity or may be they intended to somehow push Pakrat on the viewers and were just testing the waters. They realized that viewers wont accept this white washed Pakhi and also the chemistry was no existent in their scenes, so they are jumping back to their golden goose Sairat now.

i didnt watch that show or track of YRKKH but definitely NB has other offscreen factors impacting his work. He is not a "bad" actor- if he wanted to do a good job he'd have worked on his performance and brought out those subtleties. If makers cared enough they would have forced it out of him. Nobody cares. they all thought VP angle would sell. It didnt. now they are trying to get back Sairat. But I will never accept Sairat. Sairat is DEAD. Period. And thats because V is irredeemable.

Actor 's failure when to convey his heart feelings, he needs dialogue... With P, it never came out that he is doing it for sympathy, with S, we can never feel his hidden love...the angst is missing, it's all hatred...as i always say and believe, Neil is good only as a sidey because he can either play extremely negative shades or positive lovey dovey shades, the reason we couldn't feel the difference in his looks/ gaze/ gestures made to three ladies...never comes out that Sai is special...it's the same for all, while Ayesha aces it with her reaction to V, Sai's love, Pullu and Sammy, brothers and Ajinkya, Amey, friends.

It is both the story and the actor.

The story is at fault because of the plot. The entire plot is such that Virat is now an irredeemable character.

The actor because of his extreme emotions. It is both the reason why there are people who still ship SaiRat and why there are those who now don't even want to think about them ending together. In my opinion, NB, whose best expressions were the nuanced ones, has indeed lost (or stopped doing?) those nuanced expressions.

When he has to show that he loves Sai, he gives the expression that she is the most cherished person in his life (which is why it is so easy to again start shipping SaiRat just by watching a single scene of them together).

But the issue is, that when he has to show that he cares for Pakhi, he again gives the same expression.

When he has to show that he loathes the person in front, he gives, in my opinion, a pretty decent disgusted face. But when he has to show that he is angry with Sai he again gives the same hatred-filled expression.

Neil doesn't understand how to give intermediate expressions. He himself is unable to show the difference in feeling that his character has towards Pakhi and Sai, so, the audience can't differentiate either.

Acc. to the story, Neil's expressions should be:

for Pakhi (care): Caring but at the same time a little distant and hesitant. The most important expression: pity (NOT love)

for Pakhi (angry): disgust, and loathe. Perhaps even disbelief, and self-disgust.

For Sai (care): Gentle, loving, passionate, and longing expression. Perhaps even pain, for he wishes to touch her, and to be with her, but he can't.

For Sai (angry): Hard expressions, but full of pain and hurt. NOT disgust, or hatred (even if his words say otherwise). The thing is we have control over our words, so we can modify them to make sure the person in front is thoroughly hurt. But we can't control our actual feelings. So, it makes sense if Virat's words are brutal, but his expressions shouldn't be.

But what Neil does:

Pakhi (care): Love

Pakhi (angry): Hate

Sai (care): Love

Sai (angry): Hate

And thus the entire audience goes: 🤓
