Griezmann and Giroud were the ones who initiated the clapping. Few players gave their smiles after....but yes, football is all about success and failures.
It was a failure in the last stage, that's ok, it happens. Two teams cannot win at the end naa....

I feel like they hadn't come to terms about losing the cup by then. Kinda sulking and mourning perhaps. But i agree though, when fans come in hoards to express their love and admiration, they should have smiled and welcomed them. Like the Croatian team lost and bagged the third place but they enjoyed the fans reception and were very gracious. Given it was Luca Modric's perhaps last WC and Croatia lost twice when they came so close to winning both in 2018 and 22, they took the loss very sportingly. Gotta admire them for that.
