Indians need to strengthen their middle order and add an extra bowling option. If the men in blue lose the second ODI match tomorrow, they will also lose the series like their past tours of New Zealand.

India should add Deepak Hooda and Deepak Chahar to their playing XI for the must-win encounter.

A very warm welcome to the start of second ODI at the Seddon Park, Hamilton. The good news, first up, is that there's no rain at the moment, but the conditions remain quite murky as the players engage in a warm-up session on the sidelines.

New Zealand are on a red-hot winning form in ODIs at home and they would like one more tonight to nip out a series win against a side they haven't lost against since the 2019 World Cup. Seddon Park is usually a high-scoring venue and India will be well aware of that fact before devising their bowling plans, and, more importantly, of the Latham-sized threat.

Arshdeep Singh: Very grateful for my debut. It is the dream of every youngster to one day represent the country when they first start playing. I felt great making my debut. Now the goal is to keep doing well and get the team wins. In the beginning, if the ball does swing so I try to get people out LBW or bowled, but if the ball doesn't swing, then the plan is to bowl economically and stop runs. Not many differences between bowling four overs in a T20I and an ODI, I’ll continue to back my strengths and try to stop runs for the team. The side that is longer, we try to bowl in that direction. Not necessary to always look at the ground dimensions, if a particular batter does not score straight then we try to bowl straight to him.
