Lay didn't quit. He left SM entertainment but is still an EXO member. Kris, Tao, and Luhan left EXO. Since Lay is also not actively promoting, they are promoting as eight.

I'm soooo sorrry 🤣 I jumped in when I read Lay quit 😆
