For a long time, Kishore Kumar's version was the one I swore by, the one that rocked my musical boat so to speak but recently I've begun to love Lata's version too especially the picturization because it reminds me of home & evokes a strange nostalgia.
So Kishore's version is still the gold standard, the dear familiar friend I can always turn to, but Lata's version carries with it (for me) the thrill, the excitement and wonder of a new relationship.
I like how RDB made the two versions different so they almost sound like two different songs with scaling up the tempo and changing the segue from antara to mukhda.

I love this tune, especially how the antara starts off slow, then increases tempo and then merges into the mukhda again, great composition by LP and Vinod Khanna looks so handsome here . I loved this movie too! 👍🏼
