Not to argue with you or anybody else; but considering her a teenager doesn't fit. While Arjun praised her qualities, Dev joined in. Those qualities weren't of teenager.

So except for the teenage thing, I agree with rest of justification for Dev.
dekho behen aisa hai ki I don’t think he considers Vidhi teenagerish as in bachkana. What I understand is that Dev has a huge surrogacy instinct. Some where earlier it was shown that he started taking care of his family when he was only 16 or 15. 15 to 45 is like 35 long years of enduring responsibility not a very fun thing IMHO. He knows how the world and society functions. He knows how hard it will be for Vidhi to endure the crap that will be dishes out for her and by extension to her parents. She would be labeled a Gild digger, an opportunist, a social ladder climber and much more. These things are true. Now if you look at Dev his way of showing love is by taking care of the other person. When you take care of someone you try to protect them from all types of harm.
What Dev doesn’t understand is that Vidhi has already endured more than her fair share of harm in form of extreme ridicule , inflicted by her own parents, extended family and course the loads of society around.he fails to understand it is he who is her knight in the shining armor.
