Oh k..sad to know it kind of didn't live up to ur expectations..hope u get to watch a PD-Aru concert soon.

Ur observation about Danish n Sayli is spot on..they have people management skills..Danish was known to be a judges pet in Idol too..and Sayli shares a good equation with TCT people..these r good traits to have professionally..Also they r seasoned stage performers..Sayli has been on stage since years and connects well with audience and Danish has a way with words. Anyways sabka apna apna nature hota hai.

All three of them have more years of stage experience behind them compared to Aru..also it has to do with the kind of songs they sing..PD sings performance based songs, Danish n Sayli sing peppy songs while Aru sings soulful numbers. So audience involvement may be less..I hope it doesn't mean they enjoy it less😆..I would like to believe they get engrossed in the melody 😉

Glad that u got to enjoy a live concert..haven't been to one in ages

On Friday, I got to see the whole gang - band members along with Sayli and Danish in the hotel lobby. Danish is a good looking boy and quite a Charmer with how he presents himself. I will say less of Sayli.
I Missed Aru and Pawan badly. Wish they were there but alas they were still in India!

Hard rock hotel and casino was a very nice hotel /casino with many amenities and was quite large where one could get lost! So after that chance meeting I didn’t make any effort to bump them in the lobby. I did see Sayli and Shikhaji next day walking through the casino going somewhere. It was still before Aru and Pawan arrived.

The biggest drawback of the actual event in my eyes was the venue. There are 2 theaters in this hotel and this was the smaller one of the two. Apparently it used to be club and they converted into a theater. Worst seating ever!!! The chairs were like folding chairs attached to each other and the ground! Couldn’t move them and one was sitting literally rubbing elbows. If there was a big person, one could be seating in his lap 😂

I had good seats - 6th row middle section but some tall people in front. Got good view of the first 3 performances as the gentleman in front was kind enough to move over one seat!
I was quite amazed that the show started early - about 6 mins or so. Sayli came to the stage at 7:59 pm sharp and many people had not taken their seats!
Coming to performances:

- Sayli- sang for half hour and did pretty well. She is a stage performer. Got the crowd going. Maybe was a bit overdressed for the show. Looked like she picked up a Christmas gown at some store!

- Arunita: Her voice is what keeps her going. Stage presence and audience interaction needs improvement. Maybe she was tired from the long trip. She has an amazing voice! But I will say the audience was thanda during her performance. I love her, so I was very happy with her performance and to see her live. I wish she had dressed better. That outfit did not suit her. She still looked beautiful.

She called Sayli on stage who didn’t come and so she left the stage.

- Pawandeep: what a performer he his! His voice came across very clear and just loud enough without making it unbearable. It was very short - maybe just about half an hour or a little more. The crowd seemed to enjoy his performance. They were chanting his name. Audience was left longing for more!

- Danish- He sang less and talked more but audience (except me 😊) seemed to love it! I think the first song he sang took more than 10 mins to complete! He was overly dressed! First he took off the black beads he was wearing and then came the shiny jacket! He was having trouble with the earpiece. He sang well and probably got the most time on stage. Audience reaction as we exited - one woman came up to us and said - Danish was the best 😂 😳. I am no Danish fan but even I will say he did pretty well. He has a stage presence and a way to interact with the crowd. He buttered up the organizers and promoters very well even during the performance and I can see why he gets more importance than the rest! Plus his songs work as he sings the popular numbers such as Shree Ganesha and Dama dam Mast kalandar. They are such popular numbers that it gets the crowd going! He is very hyper on stage. Full of energy.

Overall I came back wanting more! They ended the event 10 min early. There seemed to be a lot of confusion about lineup of songs! Sayli and Aru song came a bit after, Aru and Pawan duet seemed forced. Danish thought he had one more solo before end but the rest of the artists showed up on stage. I saw Pawan kept looking back stage for guidance. He wanted to go on but was asked to stop. When Sayli was singing her last song, Aru’s entry video was playing in the background 🤦🏽‍♀️. Maybe Sayli stayed on a bit longer than she was supposed to. I think hers was the only performance that went on without any confusion.
The event lacked a curator! I will have to look at Suraj sir’s video to see what the online audience saw.

I think 3 hours - 4 artists - doesn’t give enough time for each singer. I think even they probably feel that they are not done yet! 3 artists is okay, 4 is one too many!

Hope to watch Aru and PD - just 2 of them some day!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Happy for you that you got to watch them perform live.

Some of these things seem to be a bit of a lottery. I see from clips on fan pages that PD sang Kisi Nazar Ko with Tabla in Boston. He didn't in Atlantic City, nor in Bangalore. In Bangalore there wasn't even the "Only PD unplugged with just his piano" that he did in Atlantic City and has done at other places.

True. I didn’t watch the Boston show but did see some excerpts. It seems like Pawan did get more time there. It would have been a treat to watch him sing while playing tabla but we were not the lucky ones.
in AC, He seemed like he wanted to perform more but I could see there were instructions coming from backstage. Not Suraj sir but the local organizers that Danish has all buttered up! 😃

In Boston, Overall they had their line up figured out and the switch of artists was smoother. I feel there was a lot of organizer’s intervention at Atlantic City. I could see them in the curtains.
Not sure who handles Suraj ji’s camera because at times I saw him back stage in the curtains.

the other thing I did not like is that the organizers and their friends in the first couple rows stood up and Danish told everyone to stand up otherwise it would be injustice to the song he was about to sing which was Shri Ganesha. So most people stood up and that venue wasn’t a place for a stand up crowd! Very tight seating and all on same floor and so it was hard to see the artists on stage. I mean I could get on my toes and see some but I am sure the back seats on the main floor couldn’t see anything. I think some people just left at that point.

Hmm. That Danish bit doesn't sound like a pleasant experience. Now I understand what you meant when you mixed feelings.

Well, I looked at it this way. I was a bit unhappy that the piano solo or tabla solo were not done in Bangalore. But then I reasoned that the joy of hearing them both live outweighs the disappointment.

Please don't get me wrong. I am not trying to preach, nor am I trivialising your experience. I am just sharing my thoughts and what I felt.

As far as SCR's camera is concerned I think he is usually with the camera but it is on a tripod, which allows him to step away for a while. I say this because when you hear the stream with earphones you can sometimes hear him having a conversation with the people around.

Overall it was a good experience that could have been better. A chance meeting with Arunita and/or Pawandeep would have made it better.

I think I was turned off when I saw the seating at the venue! If I knew I would have gotten front row or aisle seats! But front 3-4 rows were booked before I could book.

I booked my tickets on Ticketmaster and the Interesting thing is that the emails I get from them - reminders etc says - ‘your show with Pawandeep Rajan’! It doesn’t mention the other 3 or that it was a Magnificent 4 concert!

Even today I got an email from Ticketmaster that asks my review and it says ‘What did you (really) think of Pawandeep Rajan?’
I don’t understand why they are marketing only under his name!

Thankfully Atlantic City experience was good. The weather was perfect on Saturday and the walk down boardwalk along the Atlantic Ocean was beautiful! ❤️

I am no gambler but still put in some money ($60) in the Wheel of fortune slot machines. Gained a lot, gave some back and on Sat just before the concert I thought let me finish the money I had on my casino ticket. I had a quarter left on my ticket to finish up, spun the wheel and it started dumping money on me. I was like but I have to go to the concert now! So cashed out $48 . Net loss was only $12! Not bad! 😂

Overall a nice weekend it was. No regrets other than if I had known these 2 were flying back to india in between I would have chosen a different venue! Glad they came back in time for the concert and looked fresh and showed no signs of fatigue. I just wish they both had a bit more time on stage. They are both a pleasure to listen to live!

And I must say that Sayli and Danish were both good too. They both got good response from the audience and there were many young people there who wanted the more upbeat numbers.

Last point first. There is definitely a lot to learn from Sayli and Danish. After a year of doing concerts AK can't say she is still learning. And PD has been doing concerts since 6 or 7 years at least! I can say there is definitely improvement in Arunita from the same time last year, but still a long way to go.

Glad you liked the AC boardwalk. Are those colourful houses still around? The ones that remind you of the Manzoor Dil video? Also good to know you didn't lose too much money. That's actually the best you can hope for in AC or Vegas. Mathematically those games are set up in a way that the probability is stacked against you.

Hopefully there will be other concerts next year where you can go. Or if you are coming to India sometime then perhaps a happy coincidence of a concert at the same time.
