Thank you sumya 🤗
One of the ideas I can think of is sponsoring education for a girl child, even if in parts, doesnt have to be full funding. I need to look for some NGOs here in the US, i was aware of some back in India but I used to personally visit them before donating...i also used to be an NGO teacher in India but that was for all kids not just girls. But need to ensure genuine NGOs and not fraud ones...
Other than that, some universities have scholarships for girls so we can contribute towards that in some way.
Lastly, some of our distant relatives/family friends who are in home country (India for me, bangladesh for you), and we know they arent able to educate their girls for some xyz reason(money, thought process), try to help those girls...this could be a bit intricate as our own parents get involved and they might not like the interference...
what do you think?
Wow those are some great ideas! I agree with verifying the NGOs before donating to them because you can never trust any organizations
Donating to a distant relative also sounds great. When I was in bangladesh, my mom used to give away my textbooks to some younger girls from our village whose parents couldn’t afford textbooks
I also used to donate my clothes that were still in good conditions. but since moving here, donating clothes has become much harder. We have some clothing donation bins but these are for people living here, not back home
