He is right when he said the film is regional than universal, But the theme is universal thats what clicked with pan india audience!
Also the film is already dubbed there is no need of any remake.
Nice interview.
Thank you for sharing Swetha!
how can believing in god called as superstition ?
invoking a deity is practiced in every part of the country....
Finally watched,
I agree that the non - diety parts will seem repetitive to south audience, village setting, the hero's portryal, mother, friends etc from asuran, rangasthalam (twist is same) to pushpa lots of films with similar settings
but he rooted it very well in the local setting, the cast, locations, everything depicted was very natural and well done
but the highlights were the daiva part, it was excellent, his acting, direction (very tough to carry off) is really praiseworthy
this part was very well done and though there are fims like ammoru etc this was incorporated very creatively in the forest and modern setting
yes, especially for the south audience more exploration of the daiva part would have appealed, i think hindi audience dont have such films (pushpa worked because of this) in mainstream it looks very refreshing to them. cant imagine any mainstream hindi actor being able to carry this role off
but movie was well made, cast, locations, techical values, solid story, screenplay, music everything came together which itself is very rare nowadays
definetly worth watching
