Today V has probably surpassed the OG V of Anu Aunty- Vanraj Shah. He is nothing in comparison to the toxicity of IPS V.
Lets stop kidding ourselves that this man is a "hero"
If he wants accolades instead of criticism for his performance he should just accept that hes the anti hero. And makers should too.
He has surpassed even Sid Bodke as JM in how "real" his abusiveness looked. JM had swag and menace. So the swag and costumes in a way toned down his menace but NB was just rage, disgust, evil personified. And since thats his "acting" or perhaps the channeling of his negativity towards his coactor into the performance - its laudable.
As long as he is treated like a villain and not whitewashed again, he can get applause for the performance atleast. If they flip him back into "hero" then neither the character nor actor can be lauded. But by switching V into the negative character they can actually get good performance out of him. Clearly hes not only acting but channelizing some actual rage here. It works well as a villain. He cannot justify the character of a flawed man with a moral conflict, who loves his ex-wife but fell prey to circumstances because neither V as a character has been written that way nor is V as an actor believable in that zone of aashiq/devdas/conflicted/grey-shaded guy. He doesn't have chemistry with kids, he cannot do romance anymore due to his unprofessionalism, VP pairing is like a dead rat. Nobody effing cares for them. So if they wanna rejevunate V, they should make him outright villain.
