Ghum and it's parallels. I had been thinking about this just yesterday and wanted to post on this. And the episode today just gave that.
I spoke about Sai-P, P-JM comparison. Today it is couple time. Nope. Don't get me wrong on this when I say Sai-JM vs P-V.
Let's just set aside the deeds of JM and P for a moment before I get going with that part.
JM and Sai are so alike in their temperament. Both speak their mind. Reminded of JM's dialogue today, where he said he understands everything but he can't express that in words in a polished manner. But that is how Sai is/was. She would state things as they are. No adulteration. They are go getters. If they set their eyes on something, they will do whatever it takes to achieve it. The means of achieving them differs for them though.
Now imagine if JM had not been what he was. Even with his lack of education and raw mannerism. if he was not so evil and did not harass Sai, they could have been best of friends. We know Sai. She does not judge people by such things. So with their mannerism they would have really hit it off.
Today we saw just that. Sai set aside that past and this reformed JM is someone who can be her friend. Because they are alike. Because he can read her like most people can't. He can see what she hides from the world. He has observed her closely even without her knowing it. And he knows her well. For Sai she had seen JM reform, but yet she was seeing him for what he had done to her. Today she only saw the other side of JM who was hesitant to speak to her. A man who once forced himself on her, was struggling to utter words in front of her. Due you see, what she saw here and why she initiated that conversation?
He could see that she changed, that hurt him. He saw that she is hurt and he couldn’t bear it. He still loves her but knows he can never have her.
This is a FRIEND. They can be FRIENDS. But can he be a partner to her? NO
Coming to P-V. They have been friends and we know how good and thick they can be. P understand V like none. And she can read his mind and even predict his reactions. V even when angry, can easily slip into a conversation with her where he freely expresses himself. We have had this complaint that he reveals way too much to P and lets her speak for him. But that’s how comfortable he is with her.
They are FRIENDS. But can they be partners? Well we have the answer. NO
I'm not talking about getting married here. JM would have ended up marrying Sai if V had not saved her, and V is supposedly "married" to P. So they can be spouses by virtue of marriage, but cannot be "Soul Mate" to the other.
Now lets compare JM and P in their role as FRIENDS
Remember 3 idiots dialogue. "Dost fail ho jaaye to dukh hota hai. Par agar dost 1st aa jaaye to zyaada dukh hota hai".
This applies to JM. Because he feels Sai's pain, in her loss. And when/if Sai-V reconcile he will feel that pang of hurt. But he will still be happy in that pain.
But that does not apply to P. She sees V's pain, but does not feel it. Because his pain is symbolic of his love for Sai. And P can never see ahead of herself. She will only acknowledge V's feeling that are related to her.
And if/when Sai-V reconcile, she will not just be hurt, she will be jealous. She will never want that happiness for V.
JM is putting his own love for her aside and hoping for Sai's happiness. Even if it means that it lies with someone else. He accepted the reality and is at peace with it. Because here Sai (friend) is more important that himself.
P on the other hand has seen how miserable V has been without Sai. She knows that he still loves her and his true happiness lies with Sai. She knows that her deeds have cost him everything that he loved and as a friend she should be ashamed and should try to reverse the wrong she did. But what has she being doing all along? Waiting for him to accept her. Even if it means without his heart, even f it means Sai will be hi only love.
P sees everything and understands V completely. But she never feels it. Because her own desire supersedes any of it. She is immune to V's suffering, because removing his suffering means, removing V from her life. And she is not ready for it.
JM has been cognisant of Sai's suffering. But he has watched how she has changed. And he wants Sai to be what she is...the old Sai. The Sai he loved. The Sai who was full of life. Even when he knows she will never be his.
P knows V has changed with Sai's absence. He is a shell of what he was. Yet she never talks about bringing that V back. The one she claims to have loved. She is fine with him living half dead, if that is the only way she can have him.
Which is a true friend? Which one would you prefer?
Something that I have always said about Sai. She bottles up her feelings to maintain that strong demeanour. For her own reasons, for not showing her vulnerable side and be manipulated, for not being ditched. But that does not mean she is not hurt or she does not need some to share it with.
In fact she needs it even more, since she barely shares it, and it is all stuffed in her and needs an outlet.
V failed miserably in seeing and understanding this. He has left her to her own devices to deal with her pain, as he assumed she is strong and can manage. Whereas Sai has been mindful of his emotional side. So she covers up and supports him.
Sai had to finally vent out that she had tightly bottled inside. And it was a divine intervention, that it was done with a person who would understand her. JM was not supposed to hear it, but he was brought there by coincidence. He had to hear it, because only he could understand and console her aching heart. To convince her to see things in that manner. To open herself to view things from the right perspective.
Ironic, that V never saw or experienced this break down. And it was JM. I'm not sure if V ever knows this. But I wish he does. It will be another blow on his ego. But he should also see, how he failed where JM scored. It was fate that got JM there, but V always had the opportunity but he could never decode it.
Karma, that he sees JM as a friend Sai and feel that pang of jealousy at hurt, that Sai experienced all though out when she saw V and P together. It has to hit him, that JM could see and understand all this and be there to support Sai, when he was never able to even notice it.
It is not Sai, but it is him who has failed here.
Coming to the episode. For the entire time post leap, V has maintained that his relationship with P is only for Vinu, There is no real marriage. Then how is P constantly asking for assurances and V giving the same to her. As if they share a marriage in complete sense and P is concerned that Sai might break that marriage. Which marriage is she even bothered about here? I understand the pain of losing everything, but what about the regret that she caused so much damage and she is the very reason for the separation. Now she is back to her selfish self who is insecure that the sham of her wedding is not taken away. And why is V giving her those promises when he keeps reminding them of the conditions?
Promo - Sorry for being a party spoiler. But I don't believe that it will play out the same way. When none in the past have, how will this be any different? It's Fri, and there is a lot of toxicity coming our way. So this is the lollipop to keep us engaged till the next trp. How predictable.
The voice over says "Waqt ne liya ye kaisa imtehaan, apni hi aulaad se Virat hai anjaan". This comes after JM reveals the truth to V. Does he hear it? Does he believe it?
Now VM will make an entry into CN. Not sure if V will be present in the audience. But I see him talking about JM, who has spoilt his life Sai. And he is living his life going after Sai seeking her forgiveness. He may also say that she is encouraging him but is not giving into him. And V is the cause of it. So he would want them to set Sai free so that she can move on with JM. And he may also say that he doubts Savi is JM's daughter.
BK and gang will jump into action as they don't want any association with Sai and JM and would not any gossip to run around in their name. To eliminate Sai completely they will conspire to get Sai married to JM.
They will try to convince V into it too. Moor tell me if this fits into the last promo "Aapne to mujhe surprise kar diya?" She hears something in reference to JM and her which would revolve around their relationship, Savi's parentage and their marriage. And this is when she decides to not reveal anything to them.
Another possibility I see is P going to Sai for not spoiling her life and leave.
So I'm not keeping any hopes for now...at least not till it actually plays out. We don't yet know, what V will know, how he will know and what he "Interprets". These will be the major players in determining the course of the episodes.
And I do see myself skipping episodes again from tomorrow ;-)
