There are 12 teams in Super 12 as the name suggests.

There are two groups of 6 teams.

England, New Zealand, Australia, Afghanistan, A1 and B2 from qualifiers round are in Group 1 of Super 12s

India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, B1 and A2 from qualifiers round are in Group 2 of Super 12s.

Each team will play once with the rest of the 5 teams from the same group.

15 games per group and 30 games in Super 12 Round.

Top two teams from each group from Super 12 round will proceed to play semi finals and the winners from each semi final will play the finals.

They beat a Western Australia Cricket Association XI by 13 runs with Arshdeep Singh also making a mark

India's men's cricket team will commence preparations in Perth today ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

The Indian and Western Australian teams will go head-to-head in two practice matches this week.

Six of the top eight men's international T20 teams - Australia, Afghanistan, England, India, Pakistan and South Africa - will visit Perth to compete for the trophy as part of the blockbuster event.

The World Cup matches in Perth will start on Saturday 22 October, with the opening night featuring England against Afghanistan.

This match will be followed by Australia versus the Group A Winner on Tuesday 25 October, before Pakistan competes against the Group B Winner on Thursday 27 October.

The final Super Sunday fixture on October 30 will be a double-header between Pakistan and the Group A Runner-Up, followed by India versus South Africa.

The five matches will be held over nine days and are expected to attract significant numbers of international and interstate visitors and showcase WA to the world.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup is the biggest global sporting event being held in Australia in 2022.

The world's best cricketers from 16 international teams will clash in 45 matches across seven host cities.

The Indian cricket team has landed in Australia to begin their preparations ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. India will be conducting their training camp in Perth before playing a couple of warm-up matches to get ready for the World Cup that gets underway on October 16.

The Indian team left for Australia on Friday and had their first training session in Perth on Saturday (October 08). It was a light session where the players were monitored by India's strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai. In a video shared by the BCCI, Desai spoke about India's preparations and explained why they chose to train in Perth.

Desai said the reason behind choosing to conduct the camp in Perth was pretty simple as the team management wanted the players to get used to the pitches having played a number of matches in home conditions recently. It will be useful for the Indian batters as pace and bounce are common on Australian tracks.

4 lucky teams who tops their respective leader boards will proceed to play in Super 12 while the other 4 teams will go home after the first round.

8 teams were already qualified for Round 2 which is also called Super 12 and waiting for their campaign to begin on 22nd of October to win that coveted T20I world cup trophy.

India will have to pick up their fielding, feels Ravi Shastriby Cricbuzz Staff

Ravi Shastri feels that India have the ability to go the distance in the T20 World Cup and predicted Australia, England and Pakistan to be the other semi-finalists. At an interaction at the Mumbai Press Club on Wednesday, the former India coach stuck his neck out on the potential semi-final line-up at the October 15-November 13 tournament. South Africa and New Zealand, he said, are the dark horses.

Shastri's confidence stemmed from India's batting which, he said, is the best in recent times. "I have been part of the system for the last six-seven years, first as a coach and now I am watching from the outside, and I think this is as good a line-up as India has ever had in T20 cricket. With Surya (Surya Kumar Yadav) at No 4, Hardik at No 5, and Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik at No 6 it makes a massive difference," Shastri said. "It allows the top order to play the way they are playing."

The former India coach, however, pointed to fielding as the team's Achilles' heel. "One area that India will have to pick up and start right from the beginning is fielding. They need to work hard and get their A game on the field when they step out against Pakistan. Those 15-20 runs that you save can make all the difference because otherwise every time you get out to bat, you need to get 15-20 runs extra. For sides like Australia, England, South Africa they field like crazy. Look at what Sri Lanka did in the Asia Cup with fielding. They won a tight game against Pakistan riding on fielding," Shastri pointed out.
