@bold - Kaun hai yeh log? Humse bhi milao 🤣

Ah, it’s lovely to meet another happily wed person. I have always been old school as well. Ab sochti hoon ki pata hota kisi acche ladke se hi shaadi honi hai toh befikr aur logon ko casual date kar leti 🤣😆

Are you guys Abhi and Niyu? Kidding. The whole quitting job and starting business reminded me of them.

Lovely story nonetheless. I don’t mind being married either and quite the similar story. Steady in relationship for last 17-18 years. Guy’s my best friend. This dating shating wasn’t much popular when I was in college. 70% of the time it’s serious. Commitment is for life was quite the norm. May be I am an old school. Ahh well. 😆

I used to be a little commitment-phobic.. but with age I do think I am starting to miss some sort of companionship in my daily routine. Responsibilities.. the fact that I'd always have to consider someone else's opinion on a matter or decision used to scare the shit outta me. But now with my fiance I am slowly starting to warm up to the idea. I think if you find the right person, that gives you your space and understands your need for independence.. it's not that bad. In fact, it can be quite nice. We both enjoy football, so now I can watch it together with him. He is there for me when I feel down or depressed. There's so many positives.

No doubt due to the influxion of South Asians 😆

Nope, its due to the locals..Whites love having minimum 2 kids and maximum of 4..on the contrary, Indians here seem to have 1 or 2 max!

Not true. First generation Bangladeshis, Pakistanis and Indians (in that order) have the highest fertility rate of all ethnic groups in the UK. Within UK natives too, the birth rates are in this order. Europe/UK born have the lowest fertility rates in the country.

Well, it’s not the tag of “marriage” per se, but the person I have married. My husband and I are best friends, who share the same place, but still give each other that comfortable space to chill by ourselves.

We got together when we were in our early twenties. Skipped a lot of the skittish dating routine, and told each other from the get go that we very much want to be in each other’s lives.

Over the years, we grew up sharing and building our dreams, making mistakes and learning how to fix them. We played no games (except the really fun ones 🤭) and maintained a kind of sacred space in our relationship, where we would be honest with the other about our desires and feelings. We laughed, we cried and we held each other through all the ups and downs of life.

The reason we got married was practical and funny - we didn’t want to pay the whole rent for two places in Mumbai, had experienced toxic flatmates and were tired of being looked at suspiciously by landlords.

Our wedding day, on the other hand, was full of love, bursting with beautiful emotions, and the certainty of finding family and everlasting friendship in each other ❤️

Years later, we both quit our corporate jobs, started our own ventures and moved to Goa. Our relationship is the wind beneath our wings. It gives us strength to choose our own path, when the world keeps urging us to take the well beaten one. It makes us unafraid to explore ourselves as individuals, because we have each other.

Why should you get married? I would say don’t get married at all…till you find a love so pure and free that it makes you grow into your best and most fearless self.

Me tooo.....Your story is my story...❤️.point is marriage is a bliss if you find the right partner..😎

Top Ten Reasons to get married

1. Tax benefits

2. Health Insurance

3. Inheritance and Medical rights for yourself and any kids

4. Citizenship, Visas, and other such considerations

5. Wedding Registry and Gifts

6. Cohabitation savings if your family or culture does not support it before marriage

7. Someone to apply vaporub and sing soft kitty (if you don't have friends like Penny)

8. At home massage services (provided they actually give good passages not torture you like Monica)

9. Someone to scratch (apply sunscreen or lotion also works) that spot you just cannot reach

10. This maybe last but most important - your own personal protection from insects and critters

Bonus - you always have someone to throw at the horde of zombies while you run to safety when the zombie apocalypse strikes. If you have kids you have so much more zombie buffer.
