Watched PS-1 today. Ok ahe movie. It stays true to the book but they have not been able to translate the written material into film format that well. You will understand the plot if you have read the book, otherwise it might be a bit difficult. My mom didnt 😆 She also had difficulty understanding their names....Vandiyathevan, Arulmozhi Varmar aka Ponniyin Selvan, Azwarkadiyan, Madhuranthakan, Adithar Karikalan........you see what I mean 😆😆 ekdum kashmir to kanyakumari naava ahet. So if anyone is going to watch I would suggest to at least read the wiki before watching😆 They really should have kept a narrator who can connect the various plots & characters for the audience. The actors are all good but they are veryyy old for these characters. What looks naughty for a 20+ man can seem chichora if done by a 40+ man. The Hindi translation is very poor. Firstly heavy use of Urdu and then the dialogues are also very disjointed & broken. That beautiful elegant language which we expect in such movies is missing. Songs v poor. I didnt like a single song. Overall a one time watch. Movie is no match to the novel, its far far superior.

How was the acting by ARB, Trisha and Vikram?

Your review echoes most of what others mentioned. Given the enormity of the novel, may be a web series would have been a better option. The dialogue writer insisted that he has restricted the use of Urdu so I'm surprised to hear. Hindi dubbing of Mani Ratnam movies has always been a issue for me and I end up watching in Tamil. Bombay, Roja, Anjali I enjoyed more in Tamil.

I think bottom line is we need to read the book.

Tighanchi pan acting chan ahe. Vikram is very good as Adithar...I liked him best👍🏼 Yes a webseries would have been beautiful taking it slowly & building up the climax scenes like the writer does in the book.

मागच्या वेळेस जज्बा पिक्चर रिलीज झाल्यावर कोणीतरी त्यांच्या सूनेच्या अभिनयाचे वाभाडे काढले तर केवढ्या चिडल्या होत्या.एरवी सासूसुना एकमेकींचे चेहरे पण बघत नसतील.😆
