His father and uncles were all known for overindulging in food and booze. Both can be unhealthy but booze is more dangerous as it can ruin your life a lot faster. A love for food can be excused if you have a good metabolism or exercise regularly. Nothing can combat alcoholism. His father was even known for violence and anger issues which can also be traced to excessive alcohol. When the alcohol gene is in your family you are more in danger to become addicted.
The only reason Ranbir wasn't showing obvious signs before was he is slim. But some alcoholics lose weight others gain it. It is an individual thing. I don't think we can call him an alcoholic yet but he is bordering pretty close to it.

Thank you. I think the main issue that needed to be resolved here was a he does have a problem or is getting pretty close to it. B. You can't get hungover at a party. You can attend a party hungover. It was his problem with booze and some naive innocence that lead to the confusion.
