I see Anushka as Devsena in Bahubali and Jejamma in Arundhati. I have never seen her as just Anushka Shetty.

I agree these guys are so out of touch that they do not fit middle class or small town roles either, forget villager or historical roles. They use artificial brown face to look like common man.

All are wannabe metropolitan elites or NRI types.

Playing god or goddess is out of question.

I can at the most imagine Deepika as a goddess due to her big eyes but her dialogue delivery and voice will ruin the role.

Gone are days when we had someone as good looking as Vinod Khanna who was trained at FTII and was gold medalist there in acting.

Nowadays all looks that too artificial and no talent.

Vinod Khanna, while an excellent actor was not trained at FTII. He was spotted at a party by Sunil Dutt who promptly cast him as the villain in his younger brother's debut film.Vinod had mentioned how he felt a bit out of place initially in Gulzar's Mere Apne. Apart from him all the other young people were Film Institute products -Shatrughan Sinha, Danny,Asrani etc.

I agree that the current actors look entirely too posh to pull off rural looks. Vinod Khanna could pull off both sophisticated urban spoiled brat and rural Thakur/dacoit at the drop of a hat. To be frank I was cheering for him and his gang to finish off goody-two-shoes Dharamendra, Asha Parekh and the rest of the villagers in Mera Gaon Mera Desh.
