He did extend his hand but she didn’t latch on quickly enough and he thought she’s very independent and didn’t need it and decided to take it away.

Akshu still doesn't have evidence in hand about Kairav’s innocence. The writers are sort of using Kairav and Anisha's situation to trap Akshu into not communicating to Abhi. Akshu knows the mere mention of Kairav will further make him think she left him because of her brother when it isn't that. Abhi won't have the patience to listen to anything out of Akshu's mouth if she even says the name Kairav.

Even if she were to tell him Dr. Khera forced a deal her voice for his hand surgery he won't understand why she has to run back. And the reason being would be Kairav which then he will be like so it is true you chose him over me and my family. You helped a suspect run away from jail which is a crime. You have been haboring someone who is wanted. I told you to let the law decide and let justice be served but you took matters into your own hands. I have to seek justice for what has happened to my sister and you are no better than Kairav because you decided to break the law.

That is how that conversation would have unfolded and instead understanding the fact that Akshu did everything for him he will be fixated on the Kairav portion because that is his biggest insecurity. So as convulated as it may seem that is why Kairav had be shipped off to Goneka villa so Akshu can be shown alone defending herself and fighting with the Kheras.
