I'm rooting for the Nandini-Aditya Karikalan love story. They did good choosing younger actors for Aishwarya and Vikram's teenage selves. I trust Mani Ratnam to tell a rooted "historically truish" story. I'm not a fan of gravity defying stunts a la Bahubali.

Cons: Casting. Karthi and Jayam Ravi are not the right choices for such important roles. Will affect the popularity of the film outside Tamil Nadu.

I'm currently reading the kindle versions of the story in English(free on Kindle unlimited). The Sumeetha Manikantan translation is simple and fast and does not waste time on each and every little thing. Plus it has a chart at the beginning detailing how who's related to whom.The Karthik Narayan translation is longer and goes into more details and does a better job explaining character's emotions.
