It wasn't mentioned anywhere. He still seems lost in Sai tho so idk where it's going lol. But he's trying to do things for Patralekha. Like bringing ice cream for her but it wasn't romantic from any angle. He did mention clearly for my son & family. It was gratitude.

Yes it wasn't romantic at all..there was definitely gratitude

But there wasn't the usual aloofness

I guess what they are trying to show is that he is still not inclined towards Pakhi as such....not thinking of moving on....but decided to be less aloof...maybe trying to be a little friendly...he is just being a little more open to the marriage....

I guess in ITV, when they show one person uninterested in the marriage, initially they are very aloof, uncooperating...the first sign of 'thawing' is the person being more open to being friendly although not romantically inclined....the friendhip soon truns into acceptance or love. So Virat is in the beginning of the friendship stage...

I'm curious to see why Pakhi isn't going if she's actually not gone there.

It is really a big blunder to show V PP married. It would have been so much better if they had shown him as being in devdas mode and PP trying to force herself as friend to help him followed by eventually (perhaps secretly) wanting to become his wife but failing at it....and him getting family pressure to move on with pp since shes reformed. They could have shown him as single parent to Vinu and PP trying really hard to become Vinu's mother and family pushing it too but both V and Vinu indifferent to her. But they ruined a great way to actually redeem V and evoke audience sympathy for him and show some angst, passion and long-distance waala romance. Win win for NB also since he wont have to do intimate scenes with Ayesha.

They could have brought third angle of pp back only as a MU when Sai returns but they have made V unforgivable unfortunately. No matter how "distant" or "formal" he is and no matter what the circumstances were that pushed him to "marry" pp even if fake- its an act that is unforgivable and makes V irredeemable.

So even if pp has mental illness, V has erred big time and has become a guy who couldn't stay true to Sai. Namesake or samjhauta marriage jaisa kuch nahi hota and it always gets messy. And he should've known that from prior experience itself. He may claim to still be in Sai's memories in his heart/body/soul but ultimately the fact is that he has allowed pp into his life in a way thats very permanent. Even if pp backs off because she is mentally cured, she will always remain tied to him and Vinu. And its no small matter to share his bedroom - the same room him-Sai had with another woman, even if its with separate beds. Post shruti, V-Sai were connected despite separated beds...

That room should have been a sacred space to him that should have been untouched. Untainted. But its now contaminated grossly.

Similarly allowing PP to do rituals at home in the capacity of his wife for years and identitying herself in public as his wife are not small matters to be brushed away just because he maintains a formal relationship.

Overall, he looks like he genuinely believes that this is "reformed" pp who has single handedly cared for all of CN and he is eternally grateful to her etc etc. He feels sympathy for her. He wants to be friends. So its a matter of time where he will decide to be more than friends. And honestly Sai coming back can be the push to do so because V may want to "spite" Sai for hiding or some BS like that.
