K-pop has the most toxic fan culture. The fans and the agencies literally own the idols. I feel bad for them. Esp female idols.
Korean audience are good at judging the acting skills of any actor and can separate their acting skills from their physical appearances. They are intelligent as audience. Probably the reason why Korean movies are mostly good. Even dramas that get high trp in Korea are mostly well acted and we'll directed. A lot of internationally hit kdramas didn't get good trps in Korea and if we look at the acting in those dramas most of them might be mediocre.
Park shin Hye was a child artist so she has been someone who was judged by her looks since a very young age. So her not getting under pressure is commendable and credit goes to her parents.
Even park Bo young was also pointed out to be not pretty enough and she also never went under the knife. But unlike shin Hye, Bo young is an amazing actress. Park Bo young is like the cutest actress i have even seen in any film industry and her acting is amazing.
