@ bold - Yes, it would be lovely to see this.
Frankly I am no fan of the whole tortured yet successful hero trope. I find it somehow unauthentic. But I think the makers have done a great job balancing it with a heroine who while appears from lesser economic strata holds her own, with values that are eternal - that of internal strength, patience, stillness and hope. This is difficult to achieve.
To me, the scene where Ayesha yells at Basit when he is about to take his mother’s dead body, is the most brilliant scene.
It shows us that while internally you may go through lots of struggles, the reality is you need to confront your inner self and no one better than your partner to show you that mirror.Tbh, I was not as impressed with the actor’s portrayal of his inner struggle, as I am impressed with the actress’s portrayal of her character’s strength and courage of conviction. Basit’s struggle is an age old story, it’s been done, but Ayesha’s handling is novel yet realistic.
I'll let go of the acting part but concerning the characters strength , I think we need to see it from this perspective..
money alone doesn't define the quality of a persons life. This was highlighted in zgh also when kashaf is quite surprised with zaroon having so many childhood issues when she believed the rich to have a comfortable and tension free life...everyone yearns for love and attention , everyone .
As a child basit was deprived of motherly love , we can't belittle his trauma saying that he is so rich , what's his problem ? Party hard , work hard and enjoy life ! No it doesn't work that way. Infact we must never belittle anybodys trauma as it's very personal to them. How they deal with it and whether they come out stronger or completely damaged.
That way it wasn't a big deal for talal to marry some other girl and not wait for bano. Pyar hi tha na? So what? Bano shouldn't cry over it . And why is ayesha constantly complaining of being deprived of love ? She lives in a mansion, she has cars, servants , a life anyone would dream of but still not get it. She has insane amount of money , she isn't answerable to anyone, not even her husband , so she should also chill and stop mourning . She has everything for which 80% of the world population strives for day and night. Na bane nashukri
Rich hero struggling with his inner self AND a poor heroine holding to her values , both the concepts are overdone, being told again and again 😆 but it depends on the execution ...I personally loved the dynamics at ayeshas house ..she has it all ..but I feel the show is about the mental issues faced by basit and how ayeshas life will be affected by it , and whether or not they will ride through .
