I hate this blonde hair on her. Blonde has never suited her. And worse, some parts of her hair are actually orange. What self-respecting hairstylist would allow her to run around with brassy highlights

I’ve always found her personality super cringe but how exactly do you except her to speak to an American audience?! She has lived in the US for a while, is married to a non Indian man. Why would she speak with a thick accent to please her hindi fans. I think you are being unreasonable about that. The words she’s using are used by everyone to talk about fashion. You are not seriously expecting her to throw some hindi words or act like the stereotypical indian migrant when she is a celebrity building international career.

She’s irrelevant at this point 🤷‍♀️. Until I visited here I didn’t really dig up much on her but yes she’s plastic to the core !!

The thing about PC is she’s made the most high profile crossover among Indian celebs/actors in the US but she’s done it by appealing to the lowest common pop culture denominators. She’s known for this faux-hip socialite persona she’s adopted, not for any skill or talent. And she isn’t a bad actress imo.

She’s basically turned herself into a desi version of the Kardashians, she even looks like a Khloe clone in this video with the trashy feathered highlights and unflatteringly tight jeans. Personally I cringe inside when Americans bring her up in conversation to me because I’m an NRI.

Also, after years in the US and a mostly non-Indian social circle, I still sound like someone born and educated in Delhi. PC just sounds so odd with her not-quite-authentic Amreekan accent.

Priyanka’s never had a thick Indian accent while talking in English even when she was a full time Bollywood actress so idk what’s so surprising about this. The obsession people have with Priyanka’s accent has gone on for decades at this point. She’s literally just chilling with her baby and doing brand endorsements here and there until her next film shoot and when Citadel comes out but still such extreme reactions. Only thing I agree with is she looks better with darker hair.

Also everyone’s flopping left, right and centre in Bollywood and making shit movies so I’m really confused what Priyanka’s missing out on…

I’m confused. Where did I write she needs to speak in a thick accent? Yeah Indians have a thick accent.

But you can work on your enunciation and clarity to sound pleasant. The whole world understands what Shahrukh says without him talking in an accent as if he’s day drinking. So I am so confused because when did I say she needs to sound like a stereotypical Indian in America????

Sorry but the fact is she doesn’t sound like she’s trying to talk like an average American. Behen here wants to sound like Kim Kardashian for attention and clout. Stop deluding yourselves into thinking otherwise.

Lmao what are you going on about? It’s one thing finding her cringe but I don’t think you have to worry about her identity and self respect.

no not at at all. But she can speak normally. Which she doesnt. Her formative years were spent in india. So her accent is not justified. All well educated people have normal accents in this country. She did that in BW also. Its all super embarassing imo. Its irritating when people say nobody has gone this far in HW. Its more like nobody has gone this low/cringe to be accepted in HW. I dont want anyone to become a "priyanka chopra" now.

Let me flex a little because I'm posting here after a long time..

I see a lot of people here who are concerned about her personality and accent as well as calling her a wannabe.. which is nothing new and I find it funny when I read such comments. Who can remain a wannabe and fake her personality for more than a decade?

To some extent, I agree that she is attempting to be a socialite in Murica, but thats about it.. otherwise she is mostly being herself, and as a fan, I can tell when she is pretending and when she is not. Not a blind fan here and many times pointed out stuff I don't like about her.

But I'm sure she has a management and public relations team advising her on how to survive in the ocean of entertainment in Murica, which isn't easy for people born there, let alone anyone coming from a foreign country, especially India, which as we all know.. isn't welcomed with open hands.

As someone said it here, successful PC crossover will encourage Western entertainment industry & audiences to look for more talent from India.. and they may not have to be as formulaic and put in as much effort for survival and acceptance as PC has to do!!

Also, I don't like her attempting to be politically left-wing in Murica when in India she is a supporter of the centralist BJP party.. but I understand it must be the advice she received from her management team for survival. Whatever works for her.. I'm not trying to make a name for myself in the pretentious and phoney WEST entertainment industry!!
