Kal Penn is American. Aziz Ansari is American. Mindly Kaling is American. Senthil Ramamurthy is American. And none of them are half as successful as they could be if they weren't brown. You can't change the realities of life.

None of Irrfan, Dhanush or Deepika have done better than Priyanka. She has made the most money, has had the most high profile roles and is actually part of the marketing campaigns.

She used to be a A lister in BW, Ab toh she lost her hold in BW as well. Hollywood ja kar bhi fake accent hy mila Aur kuch nhi 😉

Mindy Kaling is someone who has struggled through the years and is now big enough to dictate her terms. I don't think there's a feasible path for Priyanka to get to that level. But Priyanka being successful can help the next actor trying to break through. They perhaps won't have to try so hard to fit in.

You were talking racism before, not nationality. Kal Penn, Mindy Kaling, Senthil Ramamurthy, Aziz Ansari are all brown-skinned people of the south Asian race who are of American nationality.

If PC is making herself diff because of race, it's rather silly because others of the same race as her have succeeded while being 100% themselves.

Why blame Hollywood for racism when it's about herself?

Irrfan was tremendously successful. Much more than PC, in fact. I didn't mention Deepika. At all. Dhanush is a recent entrant in the group.

With re: success. Audience makes a star a star, same as in Bollywood. Complaining that *Hollywood* is not accepting is actually complaining *white audience* does not want to see brown characters. Hollywood has one main color: green. If the movie/show makes money, they won't care about the skin color of the actors. Those movies/shows don't make money because audience doesn't watch them.

People want to watch shows they relate to. That fact is pretty well known to creative types around the world. No amount of blaming racism will change it.

She has options as an Indian, Latina, and Middle Eastern and having an accent won’t get in her way in those cases.

Her new accent and full on Americanized persona has more to do with her being a full on influencer now. She wants to market her brand to the average rich white woman and thinks her authentic self won’t make her relatable I guess.

Gonna guess you haven't watched Bridgertons.😆 Love interests are POCs despite them being white in the books.

PC making herself more white presenting to appeal to rich white women and racism excluding PC from most roles in Hollywood aren't mutually exclusive things .
