Yes!! And I’m rooting for it. Vinu will be the biggest blow to Chavans, P and V. Karma bite them in the a**

I personally like to read mythology (not restricted to Indian). And my interest in it peaked trying to understand and decode the underlying and more logical and scientific reasoning that doesn’t meet the naked eye.

While I liked Ramayana for various reason, my biggest disconnect was Rama not standing upto Sita’s character assassination. Him failing to protect his own wife and giving into societal pressure. Even a god was unable to rise above society.

I know there are arguments around it and many focussing on the dilemma he was in. But somewhere that one part doesn’t sit well.
But rest all that you mentioned talks about such a progressive outlook even in scriptures. While we are still dwelling in such orthodox society.

The whole parallel and how this could fit into ghum plot is just so good.

Since we are discussing mythology and progressiveness and Ghum apparently broke “taboos” with its representation of surrogacy will mention this inference from Mahabharata. Birth of Kauravas. Gandhari did not deliver them naturally. The flesh mass (embryos) were placed in earthen pots (womb) who took the form of Kauravas. Surrogacy!!

How intelligently and intricately well written are these!!!

One thing that stands out is how loyal he was to Sita in time when it was common for kings to have many wives. His own father had three.

Both times they separated no matter what reason, he didnt marry another woman.

For agnipariksha part, I resented Ram for same reason till recently. And I herd a nice explanation- that this mythology stories are not showing perfect picture- but scenarios and how to and how not to act.

I read nice interpretation on quora about agnipariksha thing. Just like you said, things get lost in translation it is similar thing. It is not to show what Ram did is god and idolize it but to learn what not to do in such situation, even if you are a king and not want to be questioned by your people. That is the message- no matter what, it is not appropriate to question a woman’s character like that. (This interpretation of Sita’s verses when she questioned Ram)

Anywho- Back to Ghum now I am worried if Vankar reads this thread he will be like ye agnipariksha wala mast regressive hae, Sai abuse bhi hoga, lets copy that! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Lets not discuss the mythology story here. The thread might get flagged.

Yeah i meant to say when they show so many rituals and celebrate festivals, why cant they show the real progressive things discussed in those stories.

Agree with each and everything you said Sadhika!!!

Beautiful post indeed ❤️

I have nothing more to add... it's time for me to take the bitter pill and accept that sairat might be endgame still but the path taken to achieve it will be thorny and pits and pools. They might meet up in the end but they won't be the Sai and V we know.

There's a beautiful reel by a movie analysis page which talks about different Ramayan scenes across movies.

Sharing it here as it touches the points most of the readers have raised.

Beautifully said Sadhika. You have hit the nail on the head - this is the only expectation from the story.

Like msin said, let VirAkhi move on in their marriage, and let Sai have both her precious gems with her. They (or any other children) are too precious to be brought up with Chavans. Sai will raise them to be wonderful adults.

Sai deserves the peace & contentment of her children being with her. Let Virat handing over the kids to Sai be his redemption.

OMG you are over with Virraht.. 😆

But it's a beautiful interpretation of mythology..

That will be a beautiful ending..

I find it difficult ship Sai with virat... He has done too many wrong things to her.. She got the two most precious things.. So it would be great if her both children get to stay with her... Bony should not be raised by those criminals...

What an idea madam .. just love it .. the only thing I loved in the leap .. was that Sai is not alone in this world .. she has her 2 kids who are tied to her by blood .. I had my doubts on vinu but his look of vulnerability around sai ., is giving hopes he will stick to his mother ..

There is something cerebral in him which wants to prove to the parent I am yours

It is something a child always does .. a mother gives birth to the infant .. so she never doubts it ( not the case here ) so the child gives indication to the father to show its likeness to him ..

Savi has been showing that to virat .. vinu is doing the same subtly to sai

Yeah let Virakhi move on...no shikayat. Sai left her in laws house forever for her principles.. Let her settle alone. So virat can and has right to move on. Its his choice ofcourse. When family was there, he chose his dost and extended family. Now that woman is his wife. Obviously he will choose her. Why expect him to be engrossed in sai's memories. Jaane do...let him suffer. P will suffer because she will never get the virat that sai had. They deserve to be together and suffer. Sai doesn't need virat. This is the biggest blow to makers creativity where fd wants leads separation permanent.

Even if vinu stays with CN animals, let it be naa. Viinu will himself go for his mother. Want it to be his choice.

Who said they are suffering but virakhi are happy in their world..

Let them be..

All I want Sai should stop hurting herself for that guy who only hated her...

My beef there is no karmic justice...pakhi got everything she wanted. ..

Though I'm happy for Sai that she living her dreams and has a child of her own.. Hope she gets vinu.. That entire village is now her family
