2. Besides a producer, there are multiple people involved in a film. I'm a writer. I'm not JK Rowling or Stephen King or Chetan Bhagat. But my books got pirated. Lemme tell you how angry and helpless that made me feel. My work of 1 or 2 years, the work of my beta readers, my editor, my cover artist was stolen.

Do you not think that I will hesitate before going to that extent to make sure my work has quality? Don't you think I'll cut corners the next time? Down the line, the beta readers, the editor, and the cover artist will fail to make money.

I'm not even close to making a living off my writing. But people feel free to steal what I worked hard on for months. And you're justifying this sort of behavior on the basis of somebody's arrogance.

Once again, please rethink. 🙏

I love books, respect books.

I have probably a wall of original books.

And for the record i dont support piracy.

I am talking about Brahmastra only. All the producers are rich enough to recover.

The film workers are already paid and will get another film, it a contract job.

I always love theatre watching.

But as you have seen the arrogance of the artists, they need a reality check.

You have seen the statements they give and constant mocking.

When the most well known or lesser known bollywood producers, directors, actors shamelessly steal everything from other regional and hollywood movies and lesser known or struggling People, why should audience be made feel guilty for watching movies from pirated websites?

To give you a small example , the so called best of the best Amir khan stole entire movie from amul gupte after seeing how amazing it tunred out and had spat over the credits with bhagat bhagat for 3 idiots.

I think there People have amassed enough wealth to Last them several generations. It's amusing to see some of you sympathize with them and calling all sorts of names to audience to now have come to begging and pleading to the same audience to spend their Hard earned money on these bollywood douches Who continĂșe to mock and ridicule the audience one way or another.

I agree, whether one likes it or not the ones boycotting are well within their rights, they are not calling for bans, which was the norm earlier,
Yes the trolling and the negativity may be excessive but that is norm of the net, most celebrities are facing it, look at Elon musk.

Politics behind it, yes a factor, but going at the boycotters will not help. Right now the scenario is very murky, after LSC there is a sense that this is not confined to the net, in which case better figure it out well before lashing out

Also they are on a weak wicket, the films are mostly bad, they have copied, remade and the neutral audience is not also coming in droves to watch them

And the reality is as lots have said here, india is a country of inequality, elitism, flaunting wealth and being too in your face never works with society at large and most of the current lot has no emotional connect with the audience who feel they are all overpaid so they won’t get any sympathy

And it is not like they are discovering cure for cancer which should be supported, yeh movie nahin to kuch aur, tons of options

People are already emotionally, financially stressed after covid, some elite not making Crores while they think ten times for a 200 rupee ticket is the last of their concerns

This is almost like we lost money during covid so you buy our product, has anybody spoken about the financial stress the audience faces.

Telugu films have fixed lower ticket rate for b and c centers

Has it happened in Hindi, you have to speak about it, connect with the broader audience understand the changes
if the boycotters live on internet, these ppl also do, both idiots are made for each other

It is just smart to lie low and let your work speak

Not a smart thing to say 3 weeks before Brahmstra’s release. Not that I think her comment makes any difference to the movie’s outcome whatsoever. It will not. But Brahmstra looks like it might be a big bust and Alia just gave everyone trolling opportunity, and loads of memes.

And it’s not like other businesses have not faced negativity

Maggi was down and out after the contamination scandal

I don’t remember whether it was Kia or Hyundai had a very controversial time when one of their handles posted on Kashmir

KFC, mc Donald’s name it they have faced it

The executives ran helter Skelter to restore normalcy, offered customers incentives, did positive marketing and built their brand back

Jab baithe bithaye sab mil jataa hain tho aise hi entitlement se bolte hain because you don’t know the effort and pain in building something

I really don't like Alia but hating on a brand is different than hating on a living, breathing human being who is pregnant. This goes for more than Alia.

I wouldn't say this for Aamir because he's openly invited controversy and received backlash so his backlash makes more sense than blaming the actors for the script/portrayal/...etc.

People can be vicious, and it's not like Alia has the best support system - her dad? Creep. Ranbir? Seems to be drinking.

She can't undo being part of Karan's brand, and she's been a snake to plenty of people but there is a limit to cross. For example the viral "nose sniffing" clip. It's funny but happening every day for no reason is stupid.

Either she knows brahmastra is such a well made film that boycott won't effect it or it is another half baked mediocre sci-fi from bollywood that won't work so taking the easy way out.

I was speaking more of BW as a brand then the individuals, because the boycott is larger level

but then as I said when people become a brand you face this risk, like elon musk, our cricketers

the money they make the endorsements are also because they build themselves up as a brand, she benifitted from the kjo brand and now is facing the flip side

but yes I do agree, everything she is doing is being amplified, i hated the sniffing clip and didnt watch it,

but i still say given this, best is to lie low, the pr articles being put out, iam the only only non flop star, iam amitabh, streep and pushpa all rolled into one are most untimely
