Basit slightly smiling remembering Ayesha in the office ☺️

Okay so I was thinking.... What should be the course ahead for ayesha? Obviously Basit won't let her work as a PA for someone else. And plus now Bano has a job. So she needn't work.

But also she wants to work. And i believe people should do things they want, even if they don't need it. Poor girl will go mad sitting idle at home. So, I just got a thought, why doesn't ayehaa work with/for sadia?

I remember there was a scene in the walima. Some woman said to Basit you should collaborate with your mother and take advantage of her creative sense. This was the same woman who taunted zoya for wearing ayesha's dress.

So I am assuming sadia does some kind of work in the creative space. Plus she looks like a working woman type as per drama standards. She can employ ayesha and solve this problem once and for all.

What do you guys think of this?😃

The conversation they had in the car while returning from Ayesha's maternal home was interesting. Basit is trying to understand what Ayesha gets from these different relationships she has with her family members. He is trying to understand what she finds in these relationships since then it will be easier for him to understand what she wants from the relationship that exists between him and Ayesha as well.

@bold: As cappacuino5 mentioned in her post ayesha asking for divorce is the jolt that Basit needed. Till now, he has not made any gestures to show he is trying to adapt to this new relationship. He said on the walima night that he is new to all this rishtey nibhana business and needs some time to learn. But his actions till now have not shown any willingness to learn.

This divorce thing has woken him up. He maybe realizes now that he needs to give some time to nurture this relationship. The car convo was so precious to watch because it showed the effort that Basit is now trying to put in.

Also remember the pre-marriage convo in the restaurant where Basit tells Ayesha why he wants to marry her. One of the points he gave was she is someone who values her relationships. And again in the car, she says that her rerlationships give her strength and hope. So, Basit knows that Ayesha is not someone who will speak of something like talaaq too easily unless she is really pushed to the corner.

We as the audience have always known that Basit intends to nibhao his marriage for his whole life. But after this incident, he has to really think what does rishta nibhana mean in actual terms?

I absolutely loved the prompt way Basit dismissed aanir's family. It left a big smile on my face.

When I said in my said in my post that Basit is being hypocritical, I did not mean literally. I meant it from zoya's perspective.

But I also liked zoya's reaction. It was true to her selfish character. And it gave Basit a glimpse to the struggles of this family.

He knows they are poor. He knows they are dependent on money from ayesha. But he doesn't know the extent of how much. From his side, he has paid for the house. And he also gave some other money to Qudsia after the nikaah ceremony. So, he wouldn't be wrong to think they are doing fine.

I think zoya gave him a reality check of the extent of their gareebi.

🤗 The feeling I get from reading comments on this thread is like reliving the pleasure we get from watching the show.

Basit came in to the room and things exploded. 😆 We were all expecting Amir to turn out to have some flaw. Earlier discussions in this thread had assumed he might be a liar (not as rich as he has made Zoya believe him to be or not serious about marriage proposal). But the show has given him a different flaw. His flaw lies in his weak character. I think deep within he thinks Zoya should be grateful that he (a rich boy) has convinced his parents to visit Zoya's family for this rishta and just accept all their demands, etc. And Basit's arrival immediately shakes this assumption. Possibly he feels insecure before this man. After all Amir does nothing...no studying, no helping in dad's business...Of course trust Zoya bibi to find such a sample piece. Like her mother, she too weighs people based on their wealth and nothing else matters. Neither Zoya nor Qudsia would understand why Bano wanted Talal as her partner (a loving, responsible, respectful man though not rich).

And once Basit says what he does, Amir wastes no time on jumping on it as an excuse to show his anger and leave. Had it been a mature person, with the personality of a Talal perhaps, would he not have reacted by remaining silent? (Don't get me wrong..I am disappointed in Talal and his betrayal of Bano) But in Amir's case, it was not Amir's parents who got angry and decided to leave. It was Amir himself. Because perhaps unlike Amir, his parents realised the truth in Basit's words. It had been shameful of the mother to talk about dowry like that. But since Amir got angry, they too do not hesitate to take him on his words and leave.

Basit's face when Zoya was shouting at him!!! Aye haye...it felt good. Like really. 😆 Janice Tessa is a talent to watch out for! She is such a natural actress! Sharing the frame with the likes of Saba Faisal, Feroze Khan, Ushna Shah, she has delivered perfect performances each and every time!

Thank you for the very generous comment! 🥰 I have in turn enjoyed your posts a lot. I agree with you that Ayesha’s mother doesn’t have any genuine affection for Basit and only views him as a source of income. But I feel that she realises his potential, as a son in law, he’s very rich but also responsible and is therefore, a source of pride for her, and therein lies her (selfish) affection for him.

I just wanted Ayesha’s family to be more self sufficient or at least self respecting. Their dynamic with Basit is embarrassing for Ayesha and even for the audience. But perhaps this adds another layer to the show.

I would also like for Basit and Ayesha to be equals in the marriage. Right now, Basit holds a dominant position wherein Ayesha and her family are financially dependent on him but with Ayesha becoming financially solid, this would change. I believe money has the ability to change the dynamics of a relationship. With Soha, Basit was nicer and wanted to please her (especially with gifting her flowers and playing along with her subtle flirting). He may not have been genuine with Soha but he was nicer with her. This was only because he knew she had the option of leaving him at any given point in time and that she was financially very stable. On the other hand, he is more genuine with Ayesha and cares about her, I think he definitely respects her more as a person. But one cannot deny that he took more initiative with Soha.

Now with the sudden realisation and talking of divorce, I believe Basit would take more initiatives with Ayesha. Btw Ayesha and Basit’s chemistry is crackling! They look stunning together. ❤️

I just love the way you phrase things!!!

@in bold This sentence reminded me of the balcony scene in ep 13 part 1 when Basit comes to give Ayesha the money. As soon as Ayesha took the money, things just became super awkward between them. Ayesha toh closed her eyes, shuttered her face, turned away. But even Basit looked away, used the convenient excuse of the phone call to leave immediately.

Ayesha's mother is a very foolish but very fortunate woman. The only praise she has for Basit before Amir's parents is that he is very rich. That is the only quality she considers worth appreciating. Had Basit been some kind of pervert, she would have still not thought twice about sending her daughter to him. But see her luck! Basit is a good guy and we know Ayesha is in safe hands with him thankfully. Though no more raising those hands on her, Basit!

I really feel sorry for Bano and Ayesha. Those two have been humiliated or embarrassed by their mother's actions time and time again. I loved it when Ayesha told her mother, does this house not have any respect of its own that it needs Basit's position to gain respect?

And yes, Basit's attitude towards Soha where every moment of their interaction was him faking things, there he had been nicer. Even when he gets really angry and upset that Soha wants to go away for 6 months and is not ready for a quick marriage, you know he is seething within, but all he does is smile and sit back. The good thing is he never feels the need to pretend with Ayesha. So whatever he does, you know he is being genuine. The bad thing is the complacency you wrote of. But the last episode has shaken him up. He has realised he needs to take some initiative to make Ayesha feel at home in his house, to make her become the wife he wants her to be.

He had perhaps imagined they would continue behaving with each other as they had before marriage at the company when she was his employee with her following all his orders calmly and to the T. But over the last two episodes you see he is realising that his behaviour needs to change. Ayesha needs something from him though he still does not understand what it is that she wants. But one thing is clear, it bothers him when she cries. Seriously! The chemistry as you said, is crackling indeed!

Especially, when the script has everything which can make Basit look wrong, we cannot still call him wrong, cannt help but feel hurt over his state and plight, if this is not a career milestone, nothing can be.

I remember when KAM3 was on air, he was criticized too, despite 2 billion views and a beautiful performance, ppl thought Feroze can only play a lover boy loser aashiq, then he did Mustajab, where with the 2nd half he turned the tables down and now with Basit, his winning streak only proves that every ounce of views, every minute of fame and all the craze around him is very deserving. I think he is the only actor at present who has different fan bases for different shows, be it Khaani, Gul E Rana, Ishqiya, KAM3 or Habs now.

Having said all that, Basit-Ayesha looks like so much in love, especially Basit, I am so sure he is so scared to lose Ayesha, may be not because he is in blind love, but because he is slowly getting attached to her, and he hates attachments, attachments only gave him solitude, his mother abandoned him, father died with a clause, he has Karim but again Karim is a paid loyal, basically nobody has ever been loyal to him only for the sake of his happiness, and a man like him cannot just blindly accept a anyone at the expense of his gathered pieces of broken heart.

The moment he sees Ayesha with all those letters, i felt a lump in my throat, it felt like the stone heart and harsh demeanor which he holds in front of her was slowly getting exposed as a pretense, those dust filled letters exposed all the trauma and bitterness he has been swallowing all these years and I completely understand him when he hates it to see his mom trying to advice him, the disgust and hurt is REAL, for 25+ odd years he lived without her and suddenly she is trying to be a mother, that too by forcing him into a marriage, i do not know why did they become so cruel with him.

One thing i did not like was Ayesha arguing with Basit and saying that his mom is selfless, LOL .. I was like behen you are here since 2 days only, how do you know what he has suffered and that his mom is not selfish? It was a bit ITV-ish female lead types 😆

Now coming to the best best scene, Basit and Qudsiya, Qudsiya is the only character who blindly fangirls over Basit and his aura. 'Mere damaad ki gaari apki gaari se bara gai',🤣 she destroyed all the dowry bhooke clowns with that, and bacha kucha asar Basit completed by calling the greedy people out, what a solid clincher, he is the MAN of the house and he knows that these people cannot deserve zoya however he does not know that Zoya herself deserves such shitty people 😆

The car scene was so cute, Ayesha pissed off and Basit trying to be playful knowing it was wrong of him to try and raise hand and being apologetic, also it showed growth in him, while she is still complaining about her self respect and her famoily ki gareebi, I like how Basit never complains and he just gives in like okay, I am sorry, let us solve it, the boy will be such a fool in love, he will ruin it I am telling you guys 🤣

This is the best show right now and Feroze Ushna the best couple, no in between for me, and yes the OST is so classy, this drama deserves all the success it is getting.

There is no denying Feroze is a star. And as for what people say, we know "kuch toh log kahengey, logon ka kaam hai kehena" 😆

And as for his acting, in every single character he has done, he has portrayed a different individual. I have not seen KAM or Ishqiya...but Adeel Kamaal is different from Mir Haadi, who is again different from Mustajaab who is again very different from Armaan. And now Basit is nothing like any of these characters. It is wonderful the shades he can bring out in a character or a scene and with our director sahib, Musaddiq Malek, I think his prowess in acting has been brought out and displayed excellently.

Absolutely LOVE this idea!! Though I am also pretty sure Basit would HATE it! 🤣 But he would not be able to stop her from doing this the way he has stopped her from appearing for the interview. Ahaaaa....Sadia and Ayesha opening a designer boutique together perhaps...With Ayesha managing the accounts and management section of the business while Sadia takes care of the creative side. Please let Sadia not die and let us see this happen instead in the show!!

Btw that woman at the walima...hahahah...she was the designer who designed Ayesha's dress and Zoya also came wearing another one of her designs that Sadia had bought for Ayesha. She asked Zoya to take off the earrings! 😆

So true!! You put it so beautifully! ❤️ especially why Basit is shaken so much by Ayesha talking of divorce. 👏

Btw just a thought, Basit's playful attitude in the car could have also been partly because of another reason. Since his deepest fear is that the woman he marries will leave him, I think Ayesha's mother's behaviour that evening has somewhat taken care of this insecurity. He has realised that even if Ayesha wants to leave him, Qudsia will send her back to him right away. This is the first time we see him relax before Ayesha. Maybe it is because somewhere inside him, a tendril of that horrible insecurity and fear that has his heart in its vicious grasp has loosened.
