In my opinion it's completely wrong and unfair to award winning points to an invalid answer. By doing so and awarding negative marks to those who gave an unpopular answer you're punishing them just because their eyes and brains worked properly while sending the answers.

And remember it's a team game so definitely this decision will effect teams score too so don't be unfair to not only an individual but to one or more teams.
