I agree with @bhshre , at a time when we wanted some progress in their characters individually, the preganancy track just put a full stop on everything, even the small scenes where hala and hamza seemed to communicate, if for a short while. Also most shows just down play these tracks, a writing issue i guess.
In MH they could've easily given scenes related to new expectant parents, with hala as it is facing a difficult pregnancy thanks to SJ. The two scenes, one where Hamza takes hala out for food and the baby shopping one, that we did get were just blink and miss. The almost non exisiting reaction of the family after the initial shock as well adds to the lack of impact.
And that infamous pill scene which showed that the pregnancy had impacted someone extremely, namely SJ, has been pushed under the rug.
But I also agree with @imane. We've got to see Hamza succouring hala. Whenever she's around him, he's either holding her, pouring her water(alot) or simply being anxious and worried. That's progress i guess, being devoted like that, caring for her. Something that could later play a part when they separate, like we'll see now.
But it was most important for Hala's progress. We saw her acknowledging the baby as part of her, finally someone to love without any burden and the ferocious transformation during the pill fiasco, makes the track seems justified. Only issue being they've completely eradicated the abortion plot.
So we lost out paced transition coz of the pregnancy track but then we lost the pregnancy track to makers' wimps. Either way makers have left alot to our imagination or deduction. They simply want the easy job of churning out MH for every penny they can.
