My review (long rant warning đ)
The episode was actually really good, one you want to watch again, like the marriage episode or confession one.
It seemed abrupt, and fast paced unlike the slow pace but like @Smith said I guess they're accelerating the story since the dragging was making them lose viewers. I hope we have a proper closure thought.
Anyway, Hala being naive and trusting SJ is skip-worthy, the episode is good from the appartement scene. I had my doubts last episode but now I really believe Khurram has changed for the better and I hope he and Sameen get married and have a happy life. I liked his explanation of his story too. Despite the fact that he was playing Shafaq and Hala, its SJ who got poison into his mind and put this revenge insanity in his head + his mother's death ofcourse. I think that what happened leaves no place for Shafaq's character to make a come back, even thought I really really liked her, she was such a nice and selfless friend, Hala deserves to have her back in her life specially if Dadi dies and she has no other female support in her life.
Hamza's reactions were so good and true to his character. It makes the abortion episode seems even more senseless and out of place. His hurt and emotions were so well portrayed by Farhan as said already, loved how he still wanted to go back and take Hala with him, stopped SJ from shaming her or badmouthing her several times and getting down on her level on the ground when she came to explain to him. His dialogues about how he loves her so much, and that there will be no trial were also good. What hurt me is that he is thinking Hala never ever loved him which makes half sense to me, it does because he doesnt know her all that too well from before and she has been anguished and anxious half the time, but then it doesn't because by how in love and deep their bond had been portrayed, you would just know that the love was real. The part where he asked Hala if she had harmed Dadi also makes no sense, Dadi's the one true person who loves Hala the most in that house and that's still supporting her even after learning this whole mess.
Dadi's character was also good, in the earlier episodes, she had little attachement to Hala who she took as a burden. But her dialogues and acting in this episode omg - she really has tried her best to be Hala's mother and every say and action in the show points towards that. She never treats Hala as a Dadi but as a mom. In the driver phone mess, Dadi lied that Hala slept all night and didn't move a finger, all to protect her when she knew all that time that Hala spoke to someone on the phone at night. How she was refusing to believe a single word of SJ and even Hamza, Hamza was her son in law in this episode, not her grandson. She also shoved him away when he tried to care for her after she came back from the Hospital. I really hope she doesn't die because she is the only one that can reason Hamza though. Her dialogue to Nafees were so good too, she is clearly hurt and ressentful to him on Hala's behalf. I love the dialogue where she told Hala her only last wish was for Hala to take care of her baby - that was eye watering. The Dadi-Hala bond is so unique and amazing, I a glad it was portrayed this way đ
Coming to Hala, all the little anger I had on her for not telling Hamza before or being stupid in the first half of the episode disapeared in the second half. Viewers are being unfair to her. She isn't that horrible or senseless. Her monologue was so heart touching I cried - this is a bit personal but my father also left me when I was a small child and that too on Eid-ul-Adha day, after that, I've had father figures but like Hala said, there's always this pity in father figures, because they're figures, not your father. I loved how she, as a FL got to clear her part as to why she had an affair with Khurram. Its something we dont even see on Hollywood. She was seeking human care and bond, nothing more, never mind that it was one sided and she was played, all she wanted was for someone to see her, or someone to whom she could tell stuff and who could love her more than just like a friend (Shafaq). I loved that, I know many wont understand in the audience, and I dont know if Hamza will, I hope he does with how sensible he has been written, but at least Dadi did. She has shown so much progressiveness even being the oldest of the house. Her anger vanished totally and she is embracing Hala around no matter what anyone says. I hope Hamza & Jalees + Sameen react the same way. The rest are lost cases.
However now, there's no fear or anything stopping her anymore so Hala should explain everything to Hamza and open to him the way she does to Dadi. And specially tell him how much she loves him and how much their bond/marriage matters to her. She can save their marriage because Hamza clearly isnt divorcing her no matter what SJ says, so the ball is in her court. She is trying in the promo but its the proper words he needs, not just her hovering around or picking his bag, giving his coat no matter how much love she put in those gestures.
Good episode overall. And it really made up for the mess of the past 5-6 episodes. I really hope there's an evenly good closure for all characters. The Rumi track is still pending, Hala deserves a closure with Nafees, and what will actually happen with Sameen + Khurram because only Dadi, Hamza, SJ know about Khurram right now, Hamza stopped SJ from telling others and Sofia + Jalees weren't home anyway. Dreading Raees, Jalees, Nafees, Sofia and all getting to know. Raees better behave and not manhandle Hala or want to throw her out, or say stuff about her character or mother again now
And Dadi's most likely dying unfortunately... đ„ș
The points in red are spot on
I think Hamza is thinking this way as Hala never opened up to him. Again the lack of communication is the reason and the root cause of the problems
