this is a very top down family with a distinct power structure

before clashes:

1. naima (on top of the pyramid)

2. shehroze

3. wahab

4. zainab & usnna

5. servants

after clashes:

1. naima

2. shehroze

3. servants

zainab and ushna were chosen to be part of the family because the assumption was they would be subserviant. what naima didn't realize is that neither of these women are pushovers, they are just polite. there is a huge difference. this means that any time, these women can stand up for themselves and hence, naima starts to see them as a threat to her power structure. so to put them down, she even elevates the servants. the reason I would argue that the servants are above wahab is that servants take orders only from naima. so the driver can't even take the second wife out and wahab does not know. even if he did know, he would have no say that zainab can take the car. so does he have any power to make calls in his own house?

and as for shehroze yelling, again, because it is a top down power, he and naima sort of think they have done ushna a favour. whereas in her head, she sees herself as wife of shehroze and therefore an equal in the house. so we are seeing power clashes and lack of understanding. shehroze is thinking he got some typical bechari biwi who will kiss his feet for giving her life. that isn't ushna. she may be adopted but she isn't going to give up her self-respect as gratitude.

Ok , on a serious note. Thank you on explaining this power structure. It is a good angle to think upon and it makes complete sense

I guess, it was priya who said and I agreed to it that Shehroz's temporary change in behaviour during Rukhsati for Ushna was mostly because he found Ushna as meek and she gave him highest place in her life even over Zainab ( when she says mera koi nhi hai aapke bina) Till the time he knew Ushna needs him for emotional support, he valued her but when like Naima, he realised , it is no longer the case, he is losing his position to Zainab and Ushna is strong enough to give him and his mother back and she wont run after him at the cost of her self respect. He goes crazy like a mad human. He has gotten those control freak genes from Naima. He did want to control Ushna like he said before nikah and he cant do that now. 😆

He was attracted to Ushna for her fiesty nature but like you said, he thought after marriage, women completely become doormat and run after husbands ( that is what i assume his mindset have been) , it did not happen , so he is behaving in that way.

kekeke.. renee --- this drama is very simple. basically shehroze watched all these serials like mere humsafar where the idiot FL cried bucket of tears but just took whatever nonsense the mother-in-law and/or husband dished out. so he thought ushna was going to do the same. 🤣

Why didn't he watch masterpiece of ITV 'nagin' series? He would have easily believed that his mom is a nagin married with a fragile human Wahab just to get a sapola like himself. 😆
