Have tried to address it here in my own way :-)

For the lying bit - She was unwell and emotionally very vulnerable, and he had been advised by the doc to take care of her. He wanted to stall things till she was in a better stage.

But like you said he takes decision based on his good judgement, which may or may not be right.

You would have known that I used to like Virat's character initially, but that was a long long time ago. Over the entire run of the show the character graph has deteriorated beyond repair or redemption. There is nothing that can rectify it. When I write I try to provide some sort of respite by means of resolving his character from whichever juncture I pick the story from.

While I tried to reveal Virat's side of the story and showcased what he felt and why he did what he did, I will never justify his character and his take on things. He is too self absorbed and weak. His selective and convenient take on righteousness is just not acceptable.

And lets not even get to the CVs. They are on another trip all together 🤦‍♀️
