Exactly, audience doesn't hate romance genre, they cringe at actors in their 50's pretending to be in their 30's romancing girls 20 years younger to them. If anything Top Gun just proved a good movie don't need to pair young girls opposite senior actors.
Infact I am still waiting for these actors to come back on screen with their 90's contemporaries.
