I have read somewhere that it was illegal to breast feed a child in public in some states in the US until few years ago. I don't know if it's true or not but i grew up seeing women breast feed on buses in a conservative society like Kerala.

Also abortion laws in India are way more lenient and the woman don't even need the permission of the husband if she wants an abortion. There is a Malayalam movie called Sara's where the girl didn't want a child and the doctor instead of emotionally manipulating her( which we see in a lot of movies and dramas) just simply told her, her rights over her body. He said if it's not planned then she can abort it and she don't even need her husband's permission according to Indian laws.

I was really surprised when I found out that as Indian women we have much longer maternity leave than in US. did you know they only get 2 weeks? I was so shocked because we get six months paid and are eligible for a further 3-6 months unpaid (depending on company). even men get 2 weeks paternity leave now. but that doesn't happen in many developed countries. so yea, it is all a strange mix. somewhere we are ahead and somwhere we are behind. nothing is very black and white the way people cut it.

Yes it is illegal to breast feed in some southern states in the US. It isn’t pro women at all even though it appears progressive.

There is currently this huge outcry over abortion issue and let’s hope congress does something’ but it’s a sad time for women in the US. Even you are raped or incest you have to carry the pregnancy full term.

in many forums, I tend to be lone ranger because my view is neither here nor there. as my manager once said, "everyone will be saying left or right and she will come in say southwest and leave the conversation and we are all freaking confused." 🤣🤣🤣

😂😂😂

I love hearing other views as those that are similar to mine is fun but hearing a different opinion is equally good.

I am very headstrong and tend to break rules so good to see that I am not a lone wolf 😂😂😂

Your manager seems funny 😄

Ushna s ruksati dress. I like her blouse but not the skirt.

2 weeks 🙄.

I guess it also has something to do with culture. Indian culture gives a lot of importance to motherhood. So a new mother will definitely choose to be with her new born baby over her job and this will increase the number of women leaving jobs due to pregnancy. Even most of the career oriented indian women will hesitate to leave their 2 week old baby for work.

I guess some companies even give a day off due to period pain in India.

How can someone make breast feeding a child illegal 🤬.

Those abortion laws are only gonna give rise to illegal abortion centers. It's 2022 and the oldest democracy is passing this kind of laws
