did you understand what happened to areej in sikander's house? I was a little confused because by how vague things were shown -- and when she showed scars on her hand, I was like "when did that happen?" was she physically abused? was it just emotional? or was it sexual as well? am confused by the vagueness.

I'm now convinced that Sikander has caught feelings for Areej. He was so worried that something had happened to Areej, but lol, everything's fine other than her giving statements against him everywhere. 🤣And even then, he wants her back although his ego will only allow him to think that it's because he wants to punish her.

Welp, looks like Sikander's charges are gonna be dropped tomorrow and he'll go back to harassing Areej. I was laughing so hard at Seema's face when he told her that he had charges in the past and he'll get charges in the future as well, but he's gonna come out fine regardless. 😆

This is a show where I don't really root for anyone, I just want to know what happens. 😛

She was physically and emotionally abused, I don't think he touched her because she locked him out of her room when he tried. Also, I vaguely remember Sikander saying that he wouldn't force her, and he didn't need to because he would make her come to him on her own. He would manhandle her and push her around, so that's how she got the bruises.

What's really scary is that not only do the servants watch her and tell on her, they weren't allowed to interact with her, and he had installed cameras all over the house to monitor her on his phone at all times. That's why she was numb and out of it when she returned home, the whole marriage with Sikander has been a shocking and traumatizing time for her. She had to check out emotionally in order to survive.

What Sikander wanted to do was to break her and then mold her to his liking, and then he would be her owner. He was gaslighting her and always finding new ways to torment her, whether it was insulting her art, taunting her about how worthless she was to her family, or dehumanizing her and referring to her as a decorative piece in his house so she shouldn't be allowed to have feelings.

thanks for the explanation; to be honest, I skip a lot of sikander scenes -- I hate the bee buzzing music they play. find it very distracting. anyway, like you, I am not really rooting for anyone in this drama and find the story more odd that I am watching half distractedly out of curiousity.

areej telling the stepmother off by saying that God will judge her -- it didn't seem to make a difference because the stepmother doesn't seem that religious anyway. she is also like a stone and doesn't seem to care for anything other than herself. dad died and she didn't even sad about it. even her own daughter sahiba, not sure how much the stepmom really enjoys being a mom. maybe her punishment will be that she will end up alone by herself? right now, areej and her brother feel they have no right to take sahiba with them. maybe at some point, sahiba on her own will go to them. lets see.

actually liked they showed how miserable affan is. he can barely show some interest with aimeen and there is a physical as well as emotional distance between them. it will not get better even if they do get married. so curious to see how it plays out. will he marry her or will he run away from aimeen last minute?

I think Affan is not going to go through with the marriage, not when Areej is back in the picture. He even has a convenient excuse for his mom: Sikander has equally ruined Areej's life but he unwittingly has a hand in it due to his love confession, so he needs to step up for Areej instead. 😛

The stepmother does care a little about god, she refused to swear on Sahiba so maybe she does have a little fear in her. But for Areej, her troubles are right now, but all she's talking about is judgment day. It's like, yikes, that's a long time away, and it won't solve your current problems. I don't even know what Areej wants, she pretty much would have been okay at home if Seema didn't try to push her back to Sikander's house.

Lol a lot of this show is so unintentionally hilarious, you know they put that music for dramatic effect and to display Sikander's evilness, but it just feels kinda like a parody sometimes. 🤣

Areej keeps asking heartless people to look into the goodness of their hearts. It's pretty pointless because if those people had shame and conscience, they wouldn't have done certain things.

Her sister in law asked about the abuse and talked in a light tone about tolerating some slaps in the marriage. Areej talks about the psychological aspect of what slaps can do, but then starts talking in terms like being trapped in a big castle with ropes on my soul etc. The whole scene felt kinda cartoon-y, I know the show takes itself seriously, but everyone is starting to act a bit caricature-ish. It just feels so ridiculous and I can't help but laugh at scenes that I know is not supposed to be funny. 😕

Also Affan did end up not going through the engagement, he claims he wants the betterment of everyone although he doesn't know what to do. He and his mom were both guilt tripping each other so kudos to him for fighting back...?

yea I liked how affan pushed back against his mom and point blank said that he would have made aimeen unhappy. was the point of the marriage for aimeen to be put on a shelf like a doll? great question by affan.

while aimeen does act rudely, she is indeed speaking the truth. the family does not see her as a daughter and she is more of an obligation, someone they feel guilty for. rather than keep being tied to each other and be miserable, why not let her go and let her lead life the way she wants?

as for areej, she hardly makes sense. her character is all over the place. like you said, why is she expecting some kindness from people who despise her? it is really strange.

Tbh, the mom is just trying to make her own conscience feel better. She feels she has a hand in Aimen's marriage to Sikander so she feels guilty for Aimen's current state. She doesn't feel the same towards Areej who Sikander literally abused and left lying covered in blood because she wasn't the one that set up the marriage. Which also explains her double standard where it's okay to marry Aimen but have some shame when it comes to Areej.

I don't think the mom really cares, she's probably just expecting Affan to become a wonderful husband to Aimen, just as he has been an filial and obedient son to her all these years. But good of Affan to have enough sense not to go through with it, it would be even more cruel to Aimen.

Sikander mentioned to Seema how Areej freaks him out because she's so unresponsive to his abuse, and how she must be used to it because Seema has already done a number on her. I wonder if all the talks of god and for goodness is just a cry for help from all the abuse since childhood. Like she literally has no answer to them and is so helpless that she's asking them for kindness..? Maybe I'm just thinking too much into it. But I have to say that on top of confusing and poor characterization, Sehar's acting is a bit... yeah. 😕

good point on how seema's treatment of areej may have prepared her to face sikander -- basically don't react, don't show your feelings. she has been trained by seema in that sense for years to withstand stupidities.

today's episode was good -- areej was strong when it came to divorce and didn't back down. thought she will waiver but her brother, good fella, told seema that he will not allow areej to waiver. he knows that seema is only looking out for herself.

aimeen does not know how to survive -- everywhere she goes, she has a tauntrum and people get tired of her. 🤦🤦

Areej has been abused for years, so she knows how to go into survival mode in order to keep going. Ironically enough, it's living with Seema all these years that made her resistant to Sikander's plan to break and mold her.

It's good that her brother is supportive of her, he's a sensible guy. I like how he told Seema that she could come live with them and he would protect them, instead of her selfishness of pushing Areej back to Sikander.

I think that's Aimen's personality, she did the same thing to Sikander too. 🤣
