I have a feeling that by “galti ki yeh shaadi karke”, abhi may have meant it more from akshu pov rather than from his pov. Because even today he told Manjari that he is happy that akshu is atleast happy in her mayka, as he is not able to give her any happiness after marriage. So I think he may have meant that marriage was a mistake because he has not been able to keep her happy after the marriage due to all Birla family issues and that they were more happier as BF-GF only.

If this is true then we have akshu who misunderstood what abhi meant and abhi who misunderstood what akshu meant.
