some takeaways so far;

the veteran cast, especially characters of Naima, Wahab, and Zainab are perfect! the nuance in their acting adds ore depth than what the script provides!

the elder Bhabhi, gosh she has a grating voice and I do not like that woman in any roles she's ever done. I am not sure how she's managed to stick around for this long in this industry. either its the stereotype typecasting for her, or she's related to someone.

Ushna seems to me as a level headed kid who grew up in a loving home, with a healthy outlook towards love. I think that's where her confusion stems from because for the first time she's also witnessing her mother try to explain the role of money and security and its importuned compared to how they lived when Furqan was alive. She's your everyday girl next door. The self respect in her is something thats quite natural of her character but also not something she defines herself by.

I think her displeasure for Shehroze comes from unable to understand why he reacts in extremes to anything adverse.

Her confusion for Sufiyan seems to come from wanting to be desired imo. this is where the prudish pakistani industry fails this show I think. Enemies to lovers is different than rivals to lovers, and this being the former ones refuses to engage with the sexual tension outside of banters. I think we see some semblance of that through the bruised ego with shehroze but it doesn't translate well with Ushna's comebacks because it just translates it into her simply reacting instead of engaging on a same level.

I feel like we should be seeing more of the process of Ushna observing Shehroze with his mother as much as we see Ushna being observed by him.

I also have to say that as a huge proponent of good trash tv, this show is much better than mere humsafer. I wish the young actors were pushed more here. Hania and Farhan have brought a cult life into their characters, and this show has so much potential. Usama and Anmol have great chemistry.

Exactly it's not a typical story. Here Female lead is not dumb. Yes she is majboor but she has self respect. She knows how to take stand for her.

The best thing is there is no sautan, saas bahu drama. If there are negative characters then there are positive characters as well to balance the story.

Best things about this drama.

Shahroz and Ushna ki chemistry

Fights.

Ushna giving it back to everyone who mistreats her.

Zainab not being a pushover.

Naima being an amazing and clever woman.

No Sautan drama.

Actually interesting characters who are reasonable.

Shehroze confronting Ushna was okay

Barging into her room still not ok

Shehroze has accepted that he and Ushna are going to be married So in his mind she is his fiance

And Sufiyan saying that Usna also loves him(liar) he had to make sure what it was about

Shehroze loves his mom and will do anything for her happiness He's ready to marry Ushna for that but come on how would a person feel if someone 3rd will say your partner loves me

Jealous toh wo hai lekin khud ko nai pata

Mummy ne bola shadi hogi so even He's ready

Lol ikr and kuch kuch khud v shadi ka dil hai warna itna jaldi nhi manta he just want that third class creep away from ushna 🤣 osky liya shadi bhi kary ga ye ab samny sy he is saying k mom ny bola hai tou hoga but he wouldn't accept it so soon thats him too somewhere deep inside😉

Actually slap dikhana nahi chahiye but I would have loved to see Shehroze punching Sufiyaan

so would agree and disagree on this. shehroze is not a typical mama boy who will say yes to all things. if he was, then he would have done fine with his fiancee. but he got dumped and refused to make up with her even when naima requested. even when he and the fiancee were fighting before the breakup, it was the fiancee who had to bend to his will till she got tired of it and threw him out.

when it comes to wahab, he continues to have a difficult relationship despite naima playing peacemaker. that was the reason that naima decided to go for a second marriage for wahab. shehroze was vehemently against it even though it was what naima wanted. he even called up zainab/ushna to warn them off and try to give them money. he also refused to get married earlier when naima kept saying he needs a normal life.

he is super protective of naima especially as she is disabled and he feels guilty that he wasn't there for her when she fell sick. however, will he do whatever she wants? -- not really. that is why zainab points out to ushna that if shehroz was against the proposal, he would have said NO point blank.

heart of hearts, he is okay with this rishta. ushna is the type of girl he wanted -- someone who would get along with his family, especially his mom. since they are already a unit, he can see that despite his doubts and sarcasm, there is a natural vibe and love between naima and ushna. so in that sense, he is going for the type of girl his mom wants but there is no way he would agree to ushna if he didn't want her himself in one level.
