YRF stole from Jeffrey Archer, for God's sake! LVRB was a gender-reversed adaptation of Not a penny more, not a penny less. JA even talked about it. I wish he would've sued the pants off them.

Kalank was also a slightly-changed-to-avoid-legal-trouble adaptation of a novel by an Indian-American author, Shauna Singh Baldwin. Heck, even the characters' names were the same.

Adi Chopra and Karan Johar are rich. Why do they steal? Because it is thievery, plain and simple. Pay the the writers and buy the damn rights. Don't steal from working stiffs to feed your already overfed selves.

I hope someone sue them. Stealing someone's else content without any permission is a crime.

They probably did this because there is still a ban on Pakistani artists and if they had approached Abrar he would have insisted to either sing the song or be credited. So they just stole it without his permission. 🙄

The trailer isn't too bad. Looks interesting.

And song theft - what's new in that? This will probably go to court, they'll change a few words in the song, and then all good.

This plot was stolen from a south film apparently.

Kalank was nearly the same story as What the Body Remembers by Shauna Singh Baldwin. KJo just stole the plot, didn't even bother changing characters' names.

I don't get why they do this. It's not like he can't afford to pay a few thousand to the writers and get official rights.
