See adi ka sawaal poochna hi galath tha and asr ka sawaal poochna ya accuse karne bhi galath hi hoga. She was pushed at that point to a state where she was so distraught she had a weak moment and burnt her ms. Not condoning either imlie or adi fully. They were both wrong but adis question to her was the last straw. Cannot discount that. Baraabar ka blame hai dono pe. He need not have asked her that question and she need not have burnt her mangalsutra after a heated argument and walk away. It may have sufficed for them to regroup later and talk it out. Trust is a two way street applied then applies now.
